[ The feed shakes for a few minutes before it centers on a young thirteen year old boy. He has the trademark padawan braid and robes as he sits on his knees in front of the camera. His expression is quiet and muted, though it seems like he hasn't had much sleep. His eyes are red-rimmed and tired. ]

Hello. If you could tell me if this ship is heading to Coruscant, I would be grateful. If not, I'd be happy to earn my way there through any duties you deem necessary.

[ He hesitates, pausing for far too long, biting on his lip. ] And if you -- you have seen Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.

[ Action ]

[ Obi-Wan weaves himself through the ship, his shoulders hunched and his saber in a tight white-knuckled grip. Surely Qui-Gon wouldn't have left him here . . . not after coming back. Not after their discussion.

Then again, what rights did Obi-Wan even possess?

He tugs the hood over his face and keeps a wary eye on everyone who came close. This was a strange vessel and their responses got even more confusing. Best to keep to himself until he got to Coruscant. ]

[ The harp answers him, the strings ringing softly under his fingers ]

That's the way.

[ Maglor smiles ] If you are gentle with her, her sound will be, also - see how the lengths change the pitch of the notes? If you stroke them all like so... [ He runs a glissando ] They run together, like falling water - but if you pluck them [ And he picks out a scale, slowly, so that Obi-Wan can hear the notes ] you can hear each note on it's own - run them together in combinations, and you have music.

[beardstrokes]

[ Obi-Wan hesitates once again before he settles his fingers on the strings, strumming them. They glide over the strings like water.]

[ The harp responds with a ripple of sound, evoking falling rain or the waves on the sea, and Maglor smiles ]

She likes you - you have the touch of one who might go far.

[beardstrokes]

I can feel it. In the Force. Like rain and rivers.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor smiles back at him ]

I have heard folk say that the harp often sounds like water - and I would agree.

[beardstrokes]

[ Obi-Wan glances at him. ]

Do you play any other instruments?

[bythewaves]

A fair few. [ Maglor nods ] But the harp has always been my first love.

[beardstrokes]

Love . . . ?

[bythewaves]

Mmhmm. [ Maglor reaches across to brush across the strings again, a ripple of light on water. ]

You hear that? I have heard that Song since my earliest memories, a part of the greater Song of the World and yet distinct, the call of the water. How could I not but answer?

[beardstrokes]

I guess the Force is close to that. We can always sense it.

[ Obi-Wan's always been connected to it. ]

[bythewaves]

It sounds similar. [ Maglor agrees ]

Like and not like. But different worlds are strange like that, I am finding! The same story repeated with different players and different choices, but the same themes.

[beardstrokes]

Sort of. The Force is every world, every creature. It's here too. There's never a place in the universe that isn't touched by the Force. Even your world would have it too, but maybe it's called something different.

[bythewaves]

Perhaps so! I suppose we will never know, unless you come to my world, eh? Perhaps you will, one day, and then you can tell me for certain.

[beardstrokes]

. . . Can I?

[bythewaves]

If ever you find your way to my world, I do not see why not?

[beardstrokes]

Then I'll do that someday. When I'm a full Jedi Knight.

[bythewaves]

I wil hope you can, then. [ Maglor smiles at him ] I suppose I will have to write a song for you, hm? THe traveller from the stars.

[beardstrokes]

Isn't that too much? Jedi aren't meant to accept credit.

[bythewaves]

Tis only a song, young one. [ He crooks an eyebrow at him ]

That sentiment is admirable, but I need not even use your name.

[beardstrokes]

[ Obi-Wan isn't sure how anything is only a song. He has only a distant admiration of the arts, never been close enough to fully experience it until now. ]

It's just -- I haven't really done anything to merit a song.

[bythewaves]

Perhaps, and perhaps not! And even if you have not done ought that you consider worthy, who is to say that others think the same? Or even that they will always think so?

[beardstrokes]

I guess so.

[ He mulls over it. ] I saved a planet. Ended a civil war. And uhm, saved someone from a mining ship.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor's eyebrows raise ]

Ah now, that sounds like a tale and a half there, youngling. And certainly worthy of song!

[beardstrokes]

I don't know. It still feels like boasting.

[bythewaves]

Oh? But tis not you singing, no?
