As a matter of fact, processed meats have been shown to cause an increase in bowel cancer. Red meats are a probable cause, though data is as yet insufficient.

Is it so? That's going to be a bad way to die.

Indeed. Fortunately, we have a distinct lack of it in this environment.

Distinct lack of anything particularly good to eat. I'm hesitant to complain, I'm eating better than I did back home and you've done well to supplement, but I do miss fruit.

With luck, the next stop will serve to replenish us in that department. I've a small apple tree, but I'm afraid its fruit resembles crabapples more than the edible kind.

Omega-3 fatty acids can help with many health problems. However, it's just as effective to take them as a supplement without consuming the fish themselves.

Whatever the type of meat, however, meats cooked at high temperatures produce high levels of a chemical that can damage DNA, which can cause cancer as well as other mutations.

Or fry it, or cook with any method that exceeds 300 degrees Farenheit.

Naturally, there are also environmental toxins to consider. Fish are a leading source of mercury poisoning, for example.

I'm well-read in scientific literature.

It isn't terribly difficult to learn, if you have the right resources.

I admit I read very quickly.

It would likely seem instantaneous to the human mind.

Are you familiar with the term android?

Not exactly. But I'm not entirely human, and as such I can process information very quickly.
