Curious. I am not too far past my first millennium.

[He grins.] Though surely he could not have been as pretty as me, either.

Wait-- [Ahsoka does a double take, her eyes going comically wide.] A millennium?

You're, uh. Looking pretty good for your age. Definitely prettier.

[complicatedliar]

One thousand and twenty-three at this point, I believe. [Grin.] Come now. I'm not so far out of leading strings as that.

[resnipstance]

Wow. Not even Master Yoda's that old...

And here I was feeling like I was finally getting older! I must seem like a baby to you, huh?

[complicatedliar]

Sometimes. But other times I think that time and age are relative. [He shrugs.] By that sort of measure, I think we are of an age.

[Sure, he can be an asshole about it, and often is. But he's less inclined to be a dick about the age thing to people he likes. And he finds that he likes Ahsoka even if he really doesn't have a solid reason to do so. Holdover from that lost week. Potentially annoying.]

Though humans have a habit of making me feel rather old.

[resnipstance]

[That makes her grin-- somewhat conspiratorily.]

Well then. I guess it's lucky for you that I'm not human then, isn't it?

[complicatedliar]

[He laughs. That feels good, actually. Even if he's a sonofabitch most days, it's always nice to be around another non-human.]

Rather, you make me feel young. [Only a week old. What a grim thought.] Or perhaps my proper age.

[resnipstance]

[Grinning:]

That just means you can keep up.

[complicatedliar]

[It's so reminiscent of those recent memories of being such friends that it's hard not to fall into that sort of camaraderie. And when had he become the sort of person who could like others so easily? Perhaps Luceti had done stranger things to him than he'd realized.]

You seem very certain you can keep up with me.

[resnipstance]

Let's just say I tend to run rings around other people.

[Physically and otherwise.]

Curious, I've found the same. [Well, intellectually. When you grow up in Asgard and all...]

It does well for one's popularity, yes? [Snort. Like Hel is does.]

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka gets a bit of a faraway smile on her face.]

Back at the Temple, the Masters were always telling me to slow down. Sometimes I think that's why Master Yoda assigned me to Anakin-- the only Jedi Master they had on-hand who wouldn't immediately despair at being assigned a student who never stops.

In hindsight, I was surprised by Anakin's patience with my fumblings of that week. But perhaps you taught him to rise to the occasion.

[He snorts.]

But I was rather an indolent bookish sort, to the despair of those who would be my master.

[resnipstance]

Maybe that's why we make a good team. You can be the brains to my brawn.

[It's a comical statement, coming from her-- she doesn't look anything like brawn. Ahsoka stands at only five foot seven, and that's including her extra three inches of horns. And while she's clearly lean and muscled, she's still skinny, so it's hard to look at her and realise that she has enough Force-assisted-strength to throw a full grown man across a room.]

[Oh, he knows not to underestimate the ferocity of small women. He grew up with Sif. He grins.]

What, let you do all the work while I sit back and read?

I could find this agreeable.

[resnipstance]

[She leans in, grinning.]

And then you can summarise all the cool stuff you learned and save me the trouble of reading!

[That answer actually surprises him a bit, and it shows on his face. A pleasant little surprise, though, for all that it's just casual teasing. He ought to have known, though.]

Those poor books, so unloved by you. It is tragic.

[resnipstance]

What! [Ahsoka just shrugs, hapless.] It's not like I can't read 'em if I have to. It's just-- there are so many other things to do. I hate sitting still.

[complicatedliar]

If you have to. What cruel words. I will visit my old friend, if I have to. I'd be stricken to the heart. [Definitely teasing.]

I used to read whilst riding.

[resnipstance]

[Her face scrunches up.]

Doesn't that give you motion sickness?

[complicatedliar]

...motion sickness?

[Not an amnesia thing. He hasn't encountered that before. Not a problem Asgardians tend to have.]

[resnipstance]

It's when you get dizzy or nauseous from your inner sense of equilibrium being thrown off? Happens to people often if they're on a really rocky form of transport, or if they're reading and moving at the same time...? No? Not ringing any bells?

[complicatedliar]

[He shakes his head.] Not an affliction Asgardians are subject to.

[And he's not one of them, but he's not getting in to what he actually is. Ahsoka's already seen far too much.]

[resnipstance]

Huh. That's weird.

Is that what your people are, then? Asgardians?

[complicatedliar]

It sounds a good sort of strangeness for one to have.

[Hah. Now that is a question.] Asgardians are the species native to Asgard. [Totally an answer.]
