Oh, you're on his ship, aren't you? No wonder you can hear me. You must have been developing resonance through him.

Uh huh! [He gives a nod!] He said something like that.

But...why can't I see you? I can see him.

[nerdeology]

Can you? That's impressive. It's probably just how your resonance is, though- everyone's a bit different.

[notzubats]

Well I couldn't at first! Just sorta...happened, over time.

So...does that mean your resonance is different from his?

[nerdeology]

Could be. Resonance works strangely here, and we are different elements. But if you can see him, then before long you'll probably see me, too.

[notzubats]

[...Yeah, Sora didn't really understand resonance all that much. So different elements meant different resonance? Sure. Seems like something he could accept! Especially that last part]

Ya think? That's good! I don't wanna trip over you on the beach again.

[though now it occurs to him...it was kinda weird that he tripped over the guy]

Were you...laying down in the tide area?

[nerdeology]

[Mikleo glances over his shoulder, then quietly shuffles a step back to stand in the tide. Might give Sora a better idea of where he is, or at least where he was. There's little seraph footprints in the sand.]

I was, yes. The beach was quiet, so I thought it would be alright.

[He refuses to be embarrassed, it felt freaking great.]

[Oh yeah, the footprints help alright! As well as the rippling water that's washing at his feet. And he doesn't think it's so much embarrassing as maybe...a little weird. But Seraph were supposed to be different than humans, right?]

Uh, right.

You're not worried about tentacoo- [wait, what's the term again?] er- jellyfish?

[nerdeology]

...No, should I be?

[They're close enough to one tbh.]

Probably a little. [Maybe he's a lake water seraph] Jellyfish got poisonous stingers that go off when you touch 'em. They like shallow waters and sometimes they get washed ashore. So it's always good to keep your eyes peeled for one.

[nerdeology]

[HOLY CRAP]

I had no idea! And I thought crabs were scary enough...!

[mikleo honey you haven't even met the sharks yet]

Crabs?

[He shakes his head]

Nah. Crabs look it, but they aren't dangerous. Worst they can do is pinch. And their meat's really good, if you can get through the shell!

[nerdeology]

[IMMEDIATELY PINGED]

What, they're food? You're kidding! Can you show me?

[notzubats]

[Wow that's some excitement over some crabs. Guess not all seraph are animal lovers like Dezel]

Show you? Uh, sure I could! But I'd need some crabs first, and some cooking supplies.

[nerdeology]

[Honestly he's just hype about getting to show Sorey new food, especially food from something they'd dismissed as a hellion before.]

Hmm... if you can get something to make a fire with, I can probably track down the crabs.

[They's slow and around water, which is his specialty! How hard can it be?]

[notzubats]

[Well if impressing your boyfriend means killing Sebastian, so be it. No one liked Altantica anyway.]

But do you know how to catch crab?

[nerdeology]

[I did :C But it is a sacrifice that must be made.]

I've never done it before, but I've seen them around. Is it difficult?

[notzubats]

[whoops sorry brah]

Well, it's not too hard... [there's tricks to it that he had to learn, sure, but...] And you're a water seraph, so maybe you'll have an easier time of it. Not like I have a net or bait anyway.

Just call me over if you need help, okay?

[nerdeology]

Will do. You being able to hear me makes it easier. Although...

[He takes a few steps forward again, drawing a big "X" in the sand with his feet.]

So it'll be easier for you to find the area.

[notzubats]

Oh, good idea!

[Yeah, that x will make it easier! He turns to go]

[And off he goes to get the supplies! ]

[Mikleo watches him go, curious, a few puzzle pieces sliding into place. Dezel likes this kid, doesn't he? He gets the feeling he knows why. Sora's got a familiar energy level to him.

ANYWAY, crabs. He's supposed to be looking for crabs. He returns to the tide, allowing the water to act as an extension of his eyes, feeling it out in a way that's similar to how Dezel reads the wind. He's nowhere near that skilled - he has all his other senses to distract him - but when he closes his eyes, he can feel the movement beneath him, the shift of wet sand and water molecules brushed out of the way of flapping fins. He just needs to wait for the right moment, gesture just so, and-- there.

It takes practice, but he's in no great hurry. By the time Sora returns he's more or less gotten the hang of it, and there's a very different landmark waiting for him by the cross in the sand: a big, misshapen chunk of ice. Peppered here and there inside the ice are a handful of various shellfish and - in the center, one big fin sticking out the top - a mid-sized shark.]

[It takes a bit of time for Sora to return. Before he gets firewood, he heads to the piers and picks up a cooking pot, a cooking stand, some fresh water, flint and some extra ingredients from the merchants. After he shoves the smaller stuff into his many pockets, he heads out to the woods to pick up some firewood and kindle. He tries to stay close to the water and beach while exploring for wood- he knows fully well about going into the tall grass trees without company, after all]

[Finally after all of this is done, he returns. And...whoa, what a sight he returns too and it shows in his face. He was not expecting Mikleo to be this successful, or for there to be big chunks of ice]

Whoa...!

[nerdeology]

[Just in time! Mikleo's coming up from the water, holding another chunk of ice; this one has a lobster inside of it, antennae sticking out of the front and still wiggling. So, uh. Enjoy that magically floating frozen fish.]

Oh, you're back. Good. What do you think, are any of these things edible?

[notzubats]

[Yeah...the floating ice with a lobster is weird. But when you live with a seraph for months, you just learn to live with floating stu. He walks closer, looking at what's in all that ice on the ground]

Haha...I'll say. I think you got enough to feed a whole ship-

- Is that a shark?

[nerdeology]

I'm not sure, I've only seen them in drawings. I was hoping you could tell me.

[Honestly, he assumed it would be nastier, with all of those teeth, but it had seemed pretty content to ignore him until the ice came out.]
