[ Action, Rogue's room on the Vanquish, and later around the ship. ]

[When Rogue woke up, she knew something was wrong. Little things were off about her room and when she tried to raise her head, her arms felt like noodles. What - what happened? Why was she so weak?

If anyone is in her room, she could probably use some help getting out of bed...

Later, she will be walking very slowly down the halls, leaning hard on the wall, in order to get to the kitchen. Has anyone seen her captain? Her co-chef? Her brother?]

All right, I'm up. I heard all the 'beauty sleep' jokes already, so try a new one. What'd I miss? Fill a gal in.

[She's hoping that this will also serve as a role call. After all, she's pretty sure it'd been over a month, and she knows how people come and go.]

[Rogue came back. Woke up. Whatever. It surprises Kitty. She wasn't expecting it. Not after Logan, Ororo, and the other Kurt all leaving like they did. But it's a good surprise. Rogue will see a soft smile settled on her lips when she turns the video on.]

Wasn't sure I'd be seeing you again. [And she's not exactly sure the last point Rogue remembers. Kitty hadn't seen her since the dance, but that doesn't mean she dropped off the face of the fleet immediately afterward. After all, Kitty was extra wrapped up in Winn right about then. It made it easy to miss things.]

There's a lot to cover. [She's about to start with the good news about the improvement in places to stop when she realizes the downside to this planet isn't just awkward touch—it's dangerous with Rogue's powers.] We're on a new planet. You're going to need to be extra careful out there.

Yeah, apparently I was out for a while. [Yay.]

[Well, if she needs to be careful it's not likely something she wants to talk about over an open feed.] Ya wanna come by an' fill me in?

You mean leave the beautiful planet that isn't a ship? [Someone got seriously stir-crazy with flying tin cans before they found this place. It didn't help that she had an aversion to the moon.] I could probably make that happen for you.

Well, I'd join ya if I could, but... [Not going to advertise exactly how weak she is over the network, she just shrugged half a shoulder.] Can't. You'd think after sleepin' for two months, I wouldn't be exhausted anymore, but it's the opposite.

[In other words, yeah, she's not going anywhere until she's at least strong enough to run away if necessary.]

Right. Well, I'll meet you on the Vanquish and we'll sort out me buying you a real meal on the planet when when you're up to it. I can head there now if you want.

No rush. [Wryly:] I'm not goin' anywhere.

[Pause.] But it'll be good ta see you.

[Well, that doesn't sound good.] Now works for me. Anything you want me to bring?

[A shrug.] Non-protein paste food? [...] ...although, apparently, I'm ta stick to fluids for a bit.

[And yes, she knows this is a public message and yes, she said it anyway. That might be all the acknowledgement Mystique gets.]

Soup it is then. They have some really good stews. I'll find a thin one and be right over. Are you in your room or the med lab?

Kitchen. [It had taken some doing, but it was infinitely better than both those places.] Just... sittin' here.

[She really, really didn't want to go back to her bed.]

I'll be there in a few.

[And true to her word it isn't long before she's slipping into the kitchen, Kitty-style, by not opening the door.] I probably should have brought balloons, huh? This feels like a balloon moment. [She's really glad to see you, Rogue.]

[Rogue might be exhausted and in a numbing sort of pain, but her smile isn't tired. It beams, brief and bright and genuine, to see her friend.]

I'll take a raincheck. I'd get up, but apparently lyin' around for two months makes standin' a bit of a chore. [She gestures to the seat by her instead.] C'mon in, make yourself at home.

Yeah, I can see where that could be the case. [A frightening prospect too. Is leaving bodies just to atrophy good ratings? What is this audience into? She takes a seat near Rogue.]

I really wasn't sure if I was going to see you again. [Not after losing Logan to the same thing and Ororo too soon after too little contact and just losing little Kurt suddenly. Does she even know about Kurt yet, she wonders.

It's still the biggest mutant family she's had since home, but it's already taken some major hits since she's been here. Major gains too, but Kitty tends to count the losses in a way that isn't exactly healthy ever since her parents were murdered.]

You look good though.
