[ Action, Rogue's room on the Vanquish, and later around the ship. ]

[When Rogue woke up, she knew something was wrong. Little things were off about her room and when she tried to raise her head, her arms felt like noodles. What - what happened? Why was she so weak?

If anyone is in her room, she could probably use some help getting out of bed...

Later, she will be walking very slowly down the halls, leaning hard on the wall, in order to get to the kitchen. Has anyone seen her captain? Her co-chef? Her brother?]

[ Video, Broadcast ]

All right, I'm up. I heard all the 'beauty sleep' jokes already, so try a new one. What'd I miss? Fill a gal in.

[She's hoping that this will also serve as a role call. After all, she's pretty sure it'd been over a month, and she knows how people come and go.]

[He's been in her room a bit less lately because there's that entire planet to explore, but as luck would have it, he'd decided that a nap was in order and this seemed the best place to rest. So Loki is in a chair nearby, legs stretched out and feet propped up on one corner of her bed. At the noises, he wakes up very quickly.]

What--Rogue?

Mmm. [Rogue glances over at him, drags a bare hand over her face and smiles a little.] Loki? Hey.

[She tries to lift herself up on her elbows, but her arms collapse underneath her and she falls back on her pillows.] What's goin' on?

[Why the hell am I so weak?]

[well there's a face he hasn't seen since he got here. No jokes from this one, just genuine concern]

Are you alright?

[That she's awake and knows who he is--that's good enough. He all but lunges out of the chair and snatches her up into a very tight embrace.]

[It takes her a minute to place his face. They'd only talked the once... twice? Hank. Not her Hank. Right.]

I'm - grumpy. [A wry little smile.] Seems like I slept in a tad.

[It's OK, Hank, if you won't make jokes, she will. It's the X-Men version of therapy.]

[yep, this one is younger and nerdier and distinctly less blue]

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, too? [well if she's cracking jokes that means he's free to crack them, too. Mutant therapy all around] Just . . . a little. It's been - uh. I don't think I've seen you since I first arrived.

[Faintly:] Oomph. [Um. Okay. Carefully, she wraps her arms around him in return. It takes far too much effort, she feels exhausted even though she's just woken.

Quietly, crooning:] Hey, it's okay.

[Because they were together, so even though she felt like she'd been through the wringer, they'd gone through the loss of their daughter together -- after that, there was nothing they couldn't face. So. No matter what was going on that she got this from him, it would be okay.]

Last I recall much of anythin', there was a fancy ball on the planet with the pollution problem. [She had no idea how long ago that was.] Don't remember runnin' into ya there...

[Falling down on her mutant-to-mutant relations, clearly.]

[He buries his face in the crook of her neck for a moment, and simply breathes her in now that she's moving, the tension indicative of life and consciousness in her muscles again. Yes, she is here.]

It is now.

[Still holding on.]

You have been in a coma for months.

Mm, no, we didn't see each other. You would have remembered it, I think.

['cuz he hadn't been hiding at the time, mostly because he couldn't] That was two months ago. You've . . . er. Missed a lot.

[Wait, what? That couldn't be right.] Months?

[Her fingers clutched his shirt, as if to hold onto him in denial.] ...what happened?

[Because she had no reason to doubt him, he wouldn't lie to her, but that seemed impossible to her.]

I know not. A random... augment glitch.

[One hand curls into a fist against her back, her shirt caught in his fingers.]

...yeah? Like what?

[Not a fun position to be in, she's sure, but that's a little bit more comfortable for her than dwelling on two missing months of her life. Better to fill in the gaps then dwell on them.]

[oh boy, where does he even start]

Ah - well for once, we're not longer docked at the moon. We're on a different planet now. It's nice, but - the locals are very friendly. [understatement]

...knew I didn't like these things.

[She shifts enough to pull away and see his face. Her gaze searches his expression. She's not even sure what to ask, except maybe--] Ya alright? [And:] How many months?

[Okay, one thing at a time.] How long have we been at the new planet?

[How long were they at the moon?]

[the answer is "too long"]

We just got here, so only a couple of days.

[Still narrowing that down.

Because. That sounds like a REALLY LONG stay at the moon, surely it wasn't that long?]

...were we driftin' a long time?

A few weeks. Though I don't know if that's normal or not.

[that's a question he'd have to ask someone who's been here longer]

Well, we've left the polluted moon behind. I'm not sure what else might qualify as news.

[ There's what happened with Winter, but Charles wouldn't do that to him. ]

Yeah, it's usually 'bout two ta three weeks... [A sigh.] Anythin' interestin' happen on that moon besides the masque?

[Oh, so he was still here too, huh? She wondered who else was still here from his world.]

Well, you're askin' the wrong gal. [Since, you know, she'd been so completely out of it she had no idea what to ask.] Though I do recall somethin' 'bout the five faithful friends...

Better now. [A dangerous topic, but he feels he should offer:] Leto has done much to keep me... steady over the time. [Since that will hopefully keep her from worrying that he's gotten stressed enough that murder started sounding appealing.]

Two months.

I don't know about that.

[ A little softer, gentle. ] Kurt Wagner left some time ago. I'm sorry.

[Well, that's good, since her concern was murder or psychosis. He didn't do well with things that were out of his hands, and she couldn't imagine he'd enjoyed watching her sleep and not being able to do anything about it. She doesn't really know the name he offers, seeing as she's never met the man, and her brow furrows a bit, trying to place him. She didn't think he was one of Loki's shippmates...] An' Leto is...?

[...two months.

That. Was a really long time.] ...no wonder I feel like I got into a fight with a steam roller.

[See, that's actually supposed to be a joke. Ha ha.]
