[ Action, Rogue's room on the Vanquish, and later around the ship. ]

[When Rogue woke up, she knew something was wrong. Little things were off about her room and when she tried to raise her head, her arms felt like noodles. What - what happened? Why was she so weak?

If anyone is in her room, she could probably use some help getting out of bed...

Later, she will be walking very slowly down the halls, leaning hard on the wall, in order to get to the kitchen. Has anyone seen her captain? Her co-chef? Her brother?]

All right, I'm up. I heard all the 'beauty sleep' jokes already, so try a new one. What'd I miss? Fill a gal in.

[She's hoping that this will also serve as a role call. After all, she's pretty sure it'd been over a month, and she knows how people come and go.]

[One hand curls into a fist against her back, her shirt caught in his fingers.]

...knew I didn't like these things.

[She shifts enough to pull away and see his face. Her gaze searches his expression. She's not even sure what to ask, except maybe--] Ya alright? [And:] How many months?

Better now. [A dangerous topic, but he feels he should offer:] Leto has done much to keep me... steady over the time. [Since that will hopefully keep her from worrying that he's gotten stressed enough that murder started sounding appealing.]

Two months.

[Well, that's good, since her concern was murder or psychosis. He didn't do well with things that were out of his hands, and she couldn't imagine he'd enjoyed watching her sleep and not being able to do anything about it. She doesn't really know the name he offers, seeing as she's never met the man, and her brow furrows a bit, trying to place him. She didn't think he was one of Loki's shippmates...] An' Leto is...?

[...two months.

That. Was a really long time.] ...no wonder I feel like I got into a fight with a steam roller.

[See, that's actually supposed to be a joke. Ha ha.]

Leto of House Atreides. I think if you had met him, you would remember. [Leto makes an impression, or at least his eyes do.] He is my... friend.

[He laughs a little unsteadily.] Merely with gravity, in slow motion.

[She manages a small burst of dry humor.] I usually do try an' remember your friends. [She smiles at him, not thinking too much about the hesitation as she was aware that Loki admitting to having a true friend was a pretty big deal for him.] You'll have ta introduce us.

[She shook her head and gives a wry smile.] It's much less excitin' when ya put it that way.

[Even though she was fully aware that gravity was terrifying. It takes a tremendous amount of effort, but she manages to bring a hand around to weave her fingers through his hair on the side of his head.] ...two months, really?

[Some of that hesitation might have been a thread of guilt, but really, it is more that he finds it so strange to call anyone his friend. But he supposes that is the best word for Leto that he has at his disposal.] I will.

[He has done nothing wrong. He has not crossed that line, though surely he has pressed up against it more than one time. But he's kept his word, and that is what matters.]

[He leans into that touch as much as he dares.] Fifty-two days.

[Fifty-two days... that was a really long time. And she'd woken to find him here? How did she get to be that lucky? Her grip tightened slightly, as if afraid one or the other of them would vanish at any moment.] An' you've been here the whole time?

[Though she doesn't mean 'here' it her room, although she expects that he was for a good deal of it. She meant in the universe, wanting to be sure he hadn't gone away again either.]

[His lips twitched in a smile.] I did now and then give in to the weakness of the flesh and sleep or eat. Though you largely have Leto to thank for that.

[Leto and that whole... making him stop brooding thing.] But yes, I have been here.

[A soft rattle of a laugh that quietly alarms her her just as much as her weak limbs.]

I didn't mean here here. I meant -- not sleepin' yourself or taken anywhere else or the like.

[Softly:] I know.

Yes, I have been here this time entire. Though there was a week during which I had no memory of who I was. Not long ago.

[That confession sharpens her attention - she remembers all too well what that was like, and she reaches up with her other hand to cup his face. There were dozens of questions about that, but none as important as:] Ya all right?

I am... annoyed. It was not like the time in Luceti; I was the only one who was without memory. [Though for the most part, people handled him rather well, he can admit to himself.]

[Her eyes widen.]

The only one in the entire fleet?

[Why? Why would he be singled out like that? That clearly does not bode well.]

Yes. At the time, Ahsoka was afflicted by having been turned into her thirteen-year-old self, but that was... a bit different.

Her brow furrowed. "That..."

It was clearly too soon after waking up to try to figure this out. Either that or... "That doesn't make any sense."

Was he being specifically targeted for some reason? Why?

"It does not," he agreed. "And yet that is the state of it." He wasn't exactly happy about any of those things, about being manipulated and individually targeted.

"Unless it really was a malfunction..." which, let's face it, they had a zillion reasons to doubt.

And, yeah, she didn't believe that he was half as okay with his time from being an amnesiac as he seemed, but she wasn't in any position to push and make him talk about it just yet. She felt so incredibly weak. And thirsty. And... oh man, did she have to pee.

"Loki, I need ta get up."

"Anything is possible." Yeah, right.

He wasn't all right with it, really, but it also wasn't his first time dealing with this; in some ways, it wasn't so bad as things had been in Luceti, in other ways worse. Though most of those he'd spoken to during that time had been wise enough to avoid him entirely, which helped his levels of anger as well.

"All right." After laying down for so long, he had little doubt. He moved back to give her a bit of room, but kept an arm around her. She seemed to need it. "Where?"

"Bathroom." She really did need the extra support, since in even trying to push off with her hands, her arms folded and she let out a sharp cry of pain.

That much is immediately evident. He hurries to take a firmer grip on her and take more of her weight. "Then to the bathroom we shall go." Though hopefully once he gets her there, she'll be able to take care of her business herself. More for wanting to avoid the embarrassment than any other concern. Though Loki isn't particularly good at being a caretaker.

"You ought to see a healer after."

Rogue groaned at that thought. "Do I have to?"

Ugh, that sounded like a horrible idea. If Mia was here... but she wasn't. She didn't trust doctors.

He raised an eyebrow at her. "Let us make a deal. I shall carry you to one, and if you can wiggle free and walk away under your own power, you don't have to go."

"That sounds like a bad deal," she grumbled. Reaching the bathroom, she tugged on his sleeve. She should be able to do this on her own.

"It sounds a very reasonably deal," he said, grinning. He let her go carefully, ready to lend support if she did actually need it.
