waking up is hard to do
Who: Rogue and anyone else!
Broadcast: Part B, yes
Action: Part A, Vanquish, yes
When: Tonight!
[ Action, Rogue's room on the Vanquish, and later around the ship. ]
[When Rogue woke up, she knew something was wrong. Little things were off about her room and when she tried to raise her head, her arms felt like noodles. What - what happened? Why was she so weak?
If anyone is in her room, she could probably use some help getting out of bed...
Later, she will be walking very slowly down the halls, leaning hard on the wall, in order to get to the kitchen. Has anyone seen her captain? Her co-chef? Her brother?]
[ Video, Broadcast ]
All right, I'm up. I heard all the 'beauty sleep' jokes already, so try a new one. What'd I miss? Fill a gal in.
[She's hoping that this will also serve as a role call. After all, she's pretty sure it'd been over a month, and she knows how people come and go.]

What--Rogue?
[action]
[She tries to lift herself up on her elbows, but her arms collapse underneath her and she falls back on her pillows.] What's goin' on?
[Why the hell am I so weak?]
[action]
[action]
Quietly, crooning:] Hey, it's okay.
[Because they were together, so even though she felt like she'd been through the wringer, they'd gone through the loss of their daughter together -- after that, there was nothing they couldn't face. So. No matter what was going on that she got this from him, it would be okay.]

Are you alright?

I'm - grumpy. [A wry little smile.] Seems like I slept in a tad.
[It's OK, Hank, if you won't make jokes, she will. It's the X-Men version of therapy.]
video;
Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, too? [well if she's cracking jokes that means he's free to crack them, too. Mutant therapy all around] Just . . . a little. It's been - uh. I don't think I've seen you since I first arrived.

[ There's what happened with Winter, but Charles wouldn't do that to him. ]
[ video ]
Well, you're askin' the wrong gal. [Since, you know, she'd been so completely out of it she had no idea what to ask.] Though I do recall somethin' 'bout the five faithful friends...
Re: [ video ]
[ A little softer, gentle. ] Kurt Wagner left some time ago. I'm sorry.

Wasn't sure I'd be seeing you again. [And she's not exactly sure the last point Rogue remembers. Kitty hadn't seen her since the dance, but that doesn't mean she dropped off the face of the fleet immediately afterward. After all, Kitty was extra wrapped up in Winn right about then. It made it easy to miss things.]
There's a lot to cover. [She's about to start with the good news about the improvement in places to stop when she realizes the downside to this planet isn't just awkward touch—it's dangerous with Rogue's powers.] We're on a new planet. You're going to need to be extra careful out there.
[Well, if she needs to be careful it's not likely something she wants to talk about over an open feed.] Ya wanna come by an' fill me in?

Lucky for both of them Remy had shown up after her initial wake up, thus able to miss running into him. Instead he walked through the ship until he spotted her, having planned to make some smart remark teamed with a smirk, but, well... it was just really good to see her up and about.] Hey cherie.
[Action]
[She was, however, still smiling warmly, clearly glad to see him.]
[Action]
That she would be ok.
The hug was brief, knowing better than to hold on too long to her and Remy moved to take a seat next to her.] Well I wanted to see if I could surprise ya 'nd catch ya with a major case of bed hair. [Yet even with joking his voice was warm, not like with their normal teasing.]

It had been impossible for her to keep a distance, to not go and check on her now and then, in disguise of course, same as she had done to check on Kurt's room after he had gone. To see Rogue like that, it had caused a numbed pain in that section that Mystique kept boxed up and shoved far down so no one knew it was there. Her wonderful, beautiful daughter...
Who didn't want anything to do with her. And she should respect that, it was the least she could do for everything that had happened...]
2/2 [Text]
Don't eat too many solids straight away, your stomach will not be use to eating.
[There, done, that was it. It was enough.]
[Text]
Even reading this left a weary sort of dull ache in her stomach. Who did Mystique think she was to offer advice like this, as if she had any position of care in Rogue's life, after all Mystique had done to her? It was infuriating when she thought of it, and Rogue was too weak to do anything about it.
But she couldn't just let it lie, either. Couldn't ignore it. This wasn't -- it wasn't something bad Mystique had done and her conscience told her that deserved to be acknowledged. Her petulant strategist told her that if she let Mystique leave comments in her journal unaddressed, the other woman would have won. A 'thank you' seemed like the best response... and utterly impossible.
She didn't want to do this, but Mystique didn't deserve to win either.]
Noted.

In fact, he's heading there right now. But instead of making it to her room, he sees her right there in the hallway; looking like she's seen better days, of course, but she's been asleep for a while. Clay stops short in his tracks, eyes wide, dropping whatever book he's holding.]
Wha - Rogue!

action;
His hands lift and twitch as if he so wants to do those things, but instead, he frowns a little, then moves to take off his jacket. He moves closer to her, smiling so big his cheeks are hurting because he's so happy to see her awake, so happy she's still - ahem. Well, he gets that jacket around her shoulders, making sure not to touch her.]
Here. Uh, in case you're cold.
[The jacket's still warm, after all. And this is probably the closest he can get to doing something like a hug.]
