I have an important request. I need someone who can make cheese. Do cheese makers have an old timey name like cobblers and haberdashers or are those only for clothes? Anyway, calling all of those.

Cheese doesn't seem to be a thing here from what I can tell, but we're just one ingredient away from some really great pizza. I have no idea what cheese requires other than cows or goats or something. I grew up so close to Wisconsin, but I feel like I learned so little.

I would also accept alternative cheese. I know there were vegan kinds made out of hopes and dreams or something I assume. I can pay you or share the finished pizza or do something in trade if I had skills. I could beat someone up for you maybe. [She's not going to do that. Probably.] We'll work it out.

To the ring toss! [ fake trumpeting, taking her hand, and leading her in a run. if you're gonna fake it til you make it, you may as well go all out with your faking! ]

[She laughs, not needing to fake very much with him as she runs with him hand-in-hand. She kind of likes this acting her age stuff.]

[ he stops at the stall and -- yeah she's still going to have to cough up the acorns, so he just smiles at her and gestures for her to do her thing. ]

[She pays the lady with the rings and also holds a handful of them out to Winn.] Here, you carry some. [As if they're just a burden she needs help with.]

Is holding your rings a metaphor for something?

[ hold them he does, and he gives her shoulder an encouraging squeeze ]

Not the rings, the acorns, silly. [So that you will have some spending cash too.]

That's definitely a metaphor -

[ yeah, he's not gonna be spending it but he'll pocket it all the same because he just wants things to be light and easy now. it feels weird to take her money. nobody's given him money since he had parents to give him an allowance. he's gonna pretend they're in his pocket to avoid keeping all their eggs in the same basket because that's not as weird. ]

[That's fine by her. It's their money as far as she's concerned. Though probably even broader than that. It goes beyond her and Winn. It's Kurt's money if he needs it. Kara's. Sascha and so on.]

Okay, let's see if I've still got it. [The first shot is close but it bounces off a nearby bottle and falls uselessly to the ground.] It is a really good thing I don't fight people with hula hoops.

[ clapping and holding his hands up in a cheer! he's going to be extremely excited about everything today, it's decided. ]

[ first musing is this carnival needs rubik's cubes for prizes, because he would love to have one. he looks at the toys on offer - some of the quirkier looking ones appeal to him, but he wants to pick something she'd like.

cue - blue dinosaur. it feels like more of a set with one at his place one at hers. ]

[She just smiles and nods. The booth runner hands the stuffed animal over and Kitty takes it.] Should we name her National?

[ he scrunches his nose ]

That's barely a good name for a city.

[That gets a light laugh.] Sandy? Shelly? Coast? You've seemed pretty into the beach lately.

Cuz it reminds me of California. [ he nods ] Hey -- how about Cali?

I love it. Cali it is. [She seals it with a kiss. On Winn, not the dinosaur.]

[ good, he would hate to have to graduate to being jealous of inanimate objects.

he kisses back happily. ]

[She sinks in against him a little more than intended. Mmm, kissing~]

[ he could not agree more. well, he could, he would've, earlier - their talk cooled him off plenty - but he's still in complete agreement with mmm, kissing~

he smiles into the kiss as he can practically feel the stares from people around them. it's uncomfortable and embarrassing - but also exciting, and kind of makes him feel lighter. finally, he gets to be one of those people. ]
