Captain's Log 04 - It's a Rock Party

[ Hello, fellow Drifters. Today you shall find one Captain Kirk, currently of the Tourist, smiling into the camera - perhaps a bit to delighted for everyone's comfort, so if you know what's good for you turn off the broadcast now. Or stick around. It's really 50/50 with him some days. He clears his throat, for a moment attempting to look serious outside his obvious delight. ]

So, first things first, some house keeping -

For those who don't know, I'm James Tiberius Kirk, Captain of the Tourist, newly minted a few weeks ago. Please just call me Jim or Kirk, though. Any problems with the Tourist or her crew can be directed to me, or if I am not available you can relay a message to my first mate - Fenris.

[ Let that sink in everyone and then think real hard about if you want to go that route ever. ]

Now, with that out of the way...

[ His face resumes its delight. ]

Since we're all sharing what little treasures we've been getting from the planet we're all on, I thought I would join in the fun.

[ He messes with something off camera, and everyone will be treated to the dulcet tones if the The Beastie Boys. Kirk is bobbing his head and every now and then either strumming an air guitar or beating on air drums.

The song ends and his grin is so very pleased with itself. ]

You want some company? Whiskey's some hard stuff to be drinking alone.

Mmm, maybe I'll come by once I finish up some things on my head. You know, like educating the people on classic Earth music.

_{[ So, he's accepting it, but he's giving you a little extra space to yourself before he comes to check on you and make sure you aren't passed out. ]}

Beastie Boys are awesome, but they're not exactly classic yet.

[Stupid people from the future. Whenever he comes outside, Chloe has dragged a chair out of the ship and has it propped up at the bottom of the ramp, feet up on a pontoon, looking out at the forest and the water. There is a bottle resting on the dock next to her and what probably smells like a joint between her lips.]

Eventually, though, he does come to find her. His nose wrinkles a little at the smell of pot, but he doesn't vocally express displeasure. Wasn't as if he could do much about it anyways, and if it made her feel better, well, there were worse things she could be doing. ]</sub>

Eh. [She takes another puff of her joint, then plucks it from her lips.]

[She doesn't answer for a moment, maybe trying to decide if she wants to share, before she just lifts up an arm, holding the mostly-empty bottle out towards him.]

_{[ He takes it, downing a swig like an old bro and held it back out to her, wiping his mouth. ]}

Oh, that is good. This must be really hurting you bad, huh?

I'm popular. Might as well spend the credits on somethin'.

[She frowns.]

_{[ He watched her, not sure how to handle this particular situation. It was a hell of a lot different from anything else he'd come across in the universe. ]}

How long were you two together?

Five months.

[She shrugs.]

But I've known her most of my life

I'm sorry - I wish I knew what to tell you other than the usual empty placations.

Hey, not expecting anyone to tell me anything. Just drinkin' till I don't care.

Well, hope you don't mind me sticking around until that point. I get drinking til you don't care, but I like you a bit to much to let you drink yourself sick.

I know my limits. [She said, then smirks.] Passed it a while ago though.
