[Takeshi's very focused this month; he's been trying to keep things in line and work on being a good captain! Gendry is super annoying and he's got a weird triangle man in his ship apparently (and a blue lady, but what's new), but hey! New people! Gotta make good impressions. He moves to comment on the fleet's feed, partly toward his crew at first, but then to people at large. It's a little funny, because he's got crayons and papers around, kids drawings hung up in the background, which is a bit funny in contrast to his serious expression.]

Hi! I'm Takeshi of the SS Golden! I was just made captain; I'll do my best t'be a good captain, even if I never been one before. I don't wanna let Miss Hera down.

I was gonna ask people on the Golden if they wanna help make the ship nicer; I'm gonna use some of my money - I don't use my money for a lot of stuff... and I can make things a little better, especially the kitchen...! If you can help work on parts of the ship so we can get better and better stuff, let me know! We can make it a kitchen with more things in it, or more shuttles, or more room... 

... We don't got any pilots, which is kinda bad. We can't pilot things as good without pilots. But we got a lab and lots of guns!

Make sure you got a gun and you practice with it, make sure you're real good with your aim and you know how to carry it!

[He thinks that's good enough.

To the remainder of the fleet, he has an inquiry!]

I know I still got a lot t'learn! Do you guys got anything to say for someone trying to be a good captain?

It's okay...! Even though it's been bad, I'm glad it happened.

I wasn't very happy before I was fighting either...

[He considers her question, though.]

Sometimes bad things happen, even in nice places. It's good to know how to fight.

Well that's disturbing. [ horrifying even, but barriss is all about the understatement. ]

If anything like that happens again, I want you to know that you have my aid if you need it, though. Nobody should have to fight alone.

[ especially not a child. she was so much older than he seems when she started fighting, but she still wishes it had been years later. ]

It's okay; he's okay now, but it was real scary for a minute.

[He nods.]

It's good for everyone to fight together. That's how we stayed alive at home, when we played the games.

[ what has this child been through and how does she protect him. ]

I mean, teamwork will generally get you through all sorts of things. If you think it's necessary, Captain, we can always train together.

Mhmm. We had to kill monsters or they'd kill us.

They were pretty scary, but my team was real good... They helped protect me! Now I can help protect you guys, too.

[ontrial]

I hope we can keep up with your previous teammates, in that case. I don't have much in the way of experience with monsters, but I've destroyed plenty of machine enemies and more than my fair share of... [ a pause. how to justify it as enemies of the republic or threats to galactic peace or just people in her way.

eventually she clears her throat and settles on- ] More than my fair share of dangerous people, too. My galaxy was at war. I couldn't be a healer all the time.

I've fought robot spiders before! They're nasty.

You've had to kill people? That sounds hard. I know sometimes you gotta, to protect people, but... it's still real sad. 'Cus it's another person who'd probably like stuff you like, and do fun stuff if they growed up different.

[ontrial]

Robot spiders sound terrible. [ because that's a nice distraction from the rest of what he has to say. he's right, of course, but it's still always hard to hear. ]

Killing others is sad, though. I wish I didn't have to, but sometimes your safety or someone else's safety or maybe the safety of a whole planet depends on you stopping someone. And if they won't stop... If anyone ever needs to be killed around here, Captain, know that I will do it so that you don't have to. You shouldn't have to.

[throwsdown]

[He frowns a little, displeased at the thought.]

It's okay... I don't wanna make anyone kill people...

We'll try to get everyone out safe, okay? Don't even worry about it!

[ he'll get a smile for that, reassuring as she can be. ]
