[Some of the older fleet members may recognize Allen coming on the screen, in his lab for yet again, one of his video messages. He at least seems to be getting more comfortable at the idea of speaking in front of the camera- or more likely from the slightly tired tone in his voice, he's too tired from dealing with the antics of his energetic captain to give many damns]

Hello everyone! For those who don't know me, I'm Allen Walker-, the lab assistant on the S.S. Blue Fish. Just a few quick things today I'd like to say!

First of all, some of you may have noticed odd behaviors from your crewmates recently. The source of this is believed to be some malfunction from our augment implant. Luckily, I've done some scans and while there seems to be unusual activity - I haven't detected any actual brain damage so far! Beyond that, there's a lot I still don't know, I'll let you know if I learn anything else on the matter.

Second of all, due to the coming of the romantic holiday on some worlds called Valentine's Day, the augment malfunctions and the moons in this system- I'd like to go over some things to keep in mind for an easier month:

[He starts numbering them off with his finger as he talks.]

1. Please remember not to eat or drink anything if you don't know where it came from.

2. Some of the malfunctions seem to be causing....sudden attraction to other people that did not exist previously. Please keep that in mind before you make any impulsive...er, romantic decisions.

3. And if you ignored #2 and you decide to compulsively get married, I...highly recommend you check the divorce and annulment policies in this area of space. Just... [He hesitates before shaking his head] believe me on this one. It might save you a lot of trouble in the future.

[He was tempted to just shout at you over video, Allen, but no, he is on the same ship, thus hunting down and finding you. So prepare for a grumpire all up in your grill.]

[Oh wonderful. The crass man he's been avoiding on the ship has decided to hunt him down to pick a fight. He turns to look at him, forgetting to turn his feed off. Just hearing being called "freakshow" makes his blood boil, but he bites it back with a crisp-] My name is Allen, sir.

[As for the question he'll force himself more polite]

As for me having a problem...did you fall in love with this man within the past week? If not, then no.

[Being an empath is pretty useful about knowing what to say and not. Well, it would be if Alex wasn't a complete and utter dick. He can feel the reaction to freakshow and instead of being a normal person and backing off, he decides to keep pressing that button. Because fuck you that's why.]

Psh, whatever, freak.

And I've been with him for nearly five fucking years. This isn't some goddamn whim.

Allen. [Really he doesn't even need to be an empath to hear the irritation in Allen's tone that time. ]

I see. Then congratulations to you two. [If it sounds less than heartfelt- it's not about the relationship. It's because thinks you're an asshole.]

Freak. [Obvious irritation means he's doing it right!]

It's gonna be great. Pixie's gonna love it. [He's going to ignore it not being as congratulatory as it should be because he knows what he's doing.]

[That does it. There's a moment where Allen just glares at Alex. But he instead of saying anything, he turns and opens the freezer next to him- pulling out one of the ice packs with his left gloved hand. He shuts the freezer door, holding onto the ice pack.]

[Then very quickly, he turns and decks Alex hard across the face with his right hand. Not enough to break bone, but it's definitely hard enough to hurt]

[He then tosses that ice pack right over to Alex.]

I think you should leave and have yourself looked in a mirror, arsehole.

[The laughter abruptly stops and he just sort of blinks.]

Wait, like seriously?

Yeah, seriously. I've been thinking about it for a while, so I figure why the hell not.

Ah... sure, I guess so. White-hair's right, though, I should probably ask what credentials I actually need or something. It's not like I'm a military captain or nothin'.

Novelty. [And maybe irony. Hey, it's something he's never tried, and something he'd never ever have the opportunity to do in basically any other situation--why the hell not?] Haven't you ever wanted to do something just for the hell of it?

No. I've never wanted to marry people for 'the hell of it'.

[a sigh]

In order to marry people, you have to be acknowledged by a religion or local authority that you can marry people. I'm not sure if being assigned as captain counts.

Well, I can't say it was on my bucket list specifically, but hey, I'll try anything once.

Religion? Bah, don't need that to get married. Who's the local authority around here, anyway? Atroma? Atroma doesn't seem to have much to say to us, you know?

[He rubs his forehead]

At least try talking to one of the governments on the moons before you start marrying people. I'm sure that authority would count enough.

[Maybe that'll be enough to make him bored of it]

[He gives a little sigh]

It's more...sometimes when there's something affecting people's judgement in this fashion, they might do something they wouldn't normally do like...get married.

I've seen it happen before. Several times.

I guess. There's far worse things than getting married, though, aren't there?

Yes, of course there are.

Though I'll point out there's also far worse things than losing a limb too. Yet even so I'd still warn people to properly think things through before doing something that could cause that as well. [Cause seriously, he's been there- done that. It sucks.]
