[All things considered, Cass is taking this weird as fuck field trip pretty well. She had learned that people could go up into space, and the very basics of what space is. It's been something that fascinated her from an early age and now, any misgivings about how safe it may or may not be are overwritten by how exciting this is.

She's standing up against a window with both hands on it, peering out into the vastness of space with an expression that can only be called wonder on her face.

She's also wearing a skin tight batsuit as she does this, like it's totally normal to walk around in something like that. The cowl is off though. Who needs secret identities when you've already been kidnapped?]

Always liked the stars. I know some... of the pictures they make. The bear, and the spoon. [Otherwise known as Ursa Major and, you know, the Big Dipper. For people keeping track.] Never thought I'd... be this close, though. It's cool.

Oh, uh. I'm Batgirl. Or just Cass. Both are fine. [And then she waves. Like you do.] Hi.

[Something dims in her expression at the mention of that name, but only for a moment.]

Cassandra.

[She doesn't offer her last name, though. Instead she presses her fist into Stephanie's palm, her own version of a handshake.]

[ It would baffle Stephanie more if she weren't already expecting to run into some differences. After all, there were differences enough between Fereldens, the Dalish, and the Dwarves of Orzammar - this is a place with people who've never even heard of those places. ]

That's a very [ tight ] unique piece of clothing you're wearing. Is it for some purpose, or is it just the style in your world?

[ she's genuinely curious, though trying not to look too closely. ]

[Cass has always been a bit of a showoff, though, so she has no problem with holding the cape away from her body to let Stephanie have a better view of the suit.]

For protection, mostly. Also says, to people who... know who I work with, I'm with him. That they should be afraid.

[ WELP. That gets a blush. A little one, but there you go. Andraste's tits, this is almost as distracting as Morrigan's little drapey number... ]

Ah, like a uniform? Mine's, um. Mine's a uniform as well, though it doesn't tie me to any one person, just an organization.

[The blush doesn't escape Cass' notice, and neither does the body language that comes along with it, but Cass is polite enough to not point it out. To be fair, the suit has made people react that way in the past. Lookin at you, Tim.

No, she just nods because that's exactly right, it's exactly like a uniform.]

Mine says, I work with Batman. What's yours say?

Bat... man? Is he bat-like in some way? [ what are superheroes? ]

Mine says that I'm a Grey Warden. We protect people from the Darkspawn, they're... monsters, where I'm from.

We work at night, mostly. That's... part of it.

[The rest of it is complicated and not exactly her story to tell, the symbolism behind the bats, so Cass won't even try. It's enough to her that it was important to Bruce, and that it gave her a chance to fix the things she had done so very wrong in the past. The bat was a symbol of her redemption, and so she loves it.]

There's monsters... in my world, but not Grey Wardens. At least, don't think there are.

Probably not. Unless you have Darkspawn as well. They come from the Deep Roads, below the surface, and are... twisted forms of men, elves, dwarves... Their blood corrupts people, and kills them eventually.

[ wry smile ]

Even the Wardens, though it's slower for us, due to the magic that makes us what we are.

You'd likely know, if there were Darkspawn in your world.

[If there was a bingo list of all the words Cass didn't know, not only would it be very large, but all of those things would have had a space on it. She does, however, pick out the important part of all of that.]

You're... dying?

I...

[ She's pretty sure they all try not to think of it like that - herself included - but... ]

Yes, I... suppose I am. Technically speaking.

[It's not something Cass wants to think of either. A blonde girl named Stephanie, slowly dying in front of her. It's too much, too soon, and Cass takes shifts uncomfortably from foot to foot. She can't let this girl meet Tim. She can't let herself get too attached.]

Isn't there medicine? Can't you fix it?

Not that I've heard of.

[ She smiles, then, as reassuring as she can. ]

But it won't even be an issue for 20 or 30 years, it's not as though I'm going to fall ill at any given moment.

[ Well, that's... not entirely true. 10-30 years, generally, for Wardens who have not served through a Blight. She's read enough to know that Wardens who have served in a Blight tend to have less time, but most Blights aren't over a year after they began, so Stephanie is optimistic, most days. ]

[That does change things quite a bit, actually. Even if it's only ten years, that's better than a lot of superheroes manage. Really, even one year can be a big accomplishment living in Gotham, so Cass is able to relax a little. That's much less terrifying.]

And you feel okay? Not, um... feeling any symptoms?

[ She shakes her head ]

None. Other than nightmares, sometimes, but I don't actually think that's much due to the Darkspawn themselves anymore and more because some things are just bound to give you nightmares.

Darkspawn? [What the what?] What's Darkspawn?
