Teacher. Exorcists call the one who trained them Master.

It took me about four years.

Well...Traditionally the Master, or the Exorcist General, brings their apprentice to the Black Order headquarters and presents them to the commanders. From there, they are assessed by Helvaska about their value and future. After that, their apprenticeship ends and they begin their duties as an Exorcist.

But my Master didn't want to go back to headquarters! He hated headquarters! So instead one day he told me to go to Headquarters myself and knocked me out with a hammer so he could escape before I could make him go!
And my Master didn't even tell me the secret location of the Headquarters, so I ended up traveling three bloody months across two continents until I found the place! And then once I got there, I almost got disemboweled because the supervisor had forgotten to read the letter that said I was coming!

Well
Okay then.]
Your master sounds like a piece of work. [That's putting it very mildly.] I hope you repaid him in kind for the hammer to your head. [Which speaking of: HOW DOES ONE SURVIVE A HAMMER TO THE FACE?]

[And yeah he was about to go on about how YES, HIS MASTER IS A PIECE OF WORK HE'S THE WORST- but then Riona said that last part and suddenly he looks very...uncomfortable. There's a pause and he clears his throat.]
Actually, um well, about...a year after I became an Exorcist? He was at Headquarters to speak with me and um...
Well, someone...broke into his room and attacked him. And no one's seen him since but from the looks of the scene, well...someone...did hit him in the head with something.

Oh, I'm - Maker, please forgive me Allen. I never meant anything - I was just joking. If I had any idea...
[UGH UGH UGH]
I meant no offense. I hope your Master is all right.

It's fine, really. You had no way of knowing about it.
Honestly before that happened, I would've agreed with you.

[Sob. She hates foot in mouth syndrome, even if it's forgiven.]
So, we don't have exorcists in Thedas. I heard you talking a little of it here and there. You... purify spirits?

[And he shrug]
Ah...well, yes, but it's not as passive as it sounds. Fighting the undead, is probably more fitting.

That's one I haven't heard of before! [INTEREST PINGED!!] What is it?

Do you know where they came from? How they got sealed?
