004 ♛ Video;
Who: Daenerys Targaryen
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Aoard the Caprine
When: Now
[Daenerys addressed the network, still looking a little worn around the edges despite her time asleep. She felt as if she hadn't moved from her bunk in days. In her hands rests the device, pointed towards her face and atop her shoulders rests one lazily dozing dragon. Drogon's black scales had a bit of a copper and red glint to them in the lights cast about her room, his eyes were closed and his wings were curled in close to him. His clawed hands clung to her shoulder while his feet dangled over her back, hidden by her hair. Across the other shoulder, the very end of his tail could be seen. He was draped neatly around her neck where he could rest comfortably.]
I apologize to anyone who may have been inconvenienced by my mishap. My absence from was not intended, though I have no idea how long exactly I was asleep. This is my first time experiencing such a state. Should anyone from the other ships wish to brief me I can be found at my post aboard the Caprine.
[A smile and she reaches with one hand to stroke the end of Drogon's tail. His wings fluttered, sensing the disturbance.]
And this is Drogon. He is one of the dragons whom I call my children, born of a funeral pyre originally, but reborn and returned to me by the Tree that gave us gifts. Perhaps some day Drogon's brothers will join us but for now he is all that remains to me of my home.
[Drogon's hands stretched sleepily and in his attempt to awaken he fell clean from his perch on her shoulder and down her back. With a loud raptor-like shriek, Drogon shot into the air, out of the video's view and out of sight somewhere above Dany's head. He wasn't happy to have been woken up. Thanks for that, Mom. :|]
Private Message: Tyrion Lannister
Lord Tyrion, if you wish to meet him in person, you are welcome to at your earliest convenience, though I don't know that he'll be quite ready to receive guests beyond yourself. He's still adjusting to the ship, I think.
[Another loud screech and Drogon dive bombed back into view, landing in a heap in her lap. Looking down, Dany coos at him, trying to console him.]
Shh, shh... you're with me... you're just fine, sweetling.
[She smiles, bringing her gaze back to the device.]
Be prepared for him to be a bit difficult. He is a child, after all.
Action
[The Caprine crew can find their Captain up and about, checking on various stations throughout the ship and finally stopping in awe of their new gardens. The lemon tree in particular received her adoration. She was excited to be able to harvest it and perhaps task Qing with making lemon cakes to send to one Sansa Stark as a bit of a peace offering between her and the girl and her brothers.
Drogon alternated between remaining perched on her shoulder, tucked beneath an arm, or flying a few inches beside her head. He made soft hissing and rasping noises on occasion, not displeasured at the moment into full on screeching. Having him around made her smile more brightly, her step more upbeat. If anyone in the crew or visiting the ship should happen upon her they would be greeted by him as well.]
Drogon, sweetling, don't wander too far...
[Not an easy command to follow for a baby dragon in a new place.]

Drogon, sweetling, don't wander too far...
[Not an easy command to follow for a baby dragon in a new place.]

action;
His mother on the other hand was overjoyed, still glowing with happiness at her dragon's arrival. Answering the door was easy enough and her excitement was palatable.]
Welcome, Lord Tyrion. You brought something with you?
[Something he was clearly only too happy to share.]
Re: action;
Several things, actually ... and something for the new arrival, of course.
[He waits until she lets him inside, before he gives her a considering look.]
You are glowing with happiness, your Majesty. It suits you.
[He bows once more, before turning his attention to Drogon. He reaches into the basket, and holds out a small bit of cooked meat.] Shall we make friends?
action;
For a moment Drogon was suspicious, but when he saw the meat he lowered his body to the surface he was occupying, staring up at Tyrion.]
I don't think he'll do anything... if you want to give him that.
[She hoped she was right.]
Re: action;
I think he shall soon realize that I am more likely to just gaze at him in wonder than do anything else. Here, small miracle ... please don't bite me. I've dreamt of this for over twenty years but I would prefer not to be set on fire. It's not part of the fantasy.
action;
Standing up on two legs, he opens his mouth and lets out an impatient hiss. He wanted the food now.]
Re: action;
[One corner of his mouth twisted.] For now, at any rate.
action;
I'm not sure Atroma would allow him to get much larger and I don't think the ship could handle it.
Re: action;
Thank you. For this. I cannot think of many parts of my life that have been as good as this, especially coming from our homeland.
action;
[It was a haunting memory, the sight of charred children's bones laid before her in her throne room. He might have caught a glimpse of it when they held hands before the tree. She still remembered glimpses she saw of his memories - his sister's cruel sneer, a glimpse of gold against copper curls. She didn't place what and when those moments belonged to, but she didn't forget them.
As she speaks, Dany moves to the desk, reaching out to stroke Drogon's back. He relented to his contentment, closing his eyes and pressing his neck against her fingers. Should Tyrion wish to do the same the beast was content enough to allow it.]
I keep hearing that. How horrible our home truly is. It makes me feel more impatient knowing what I cannot change, but this place gifted me with something just as important as Drogon. I hope I am not wrong in hoping that you might very well be the one good friend I have found in this place. You see me as your Queen, but I hope that we might also be dear friends.
Re: action;
He paused for a moment, before leaning over to rub the leathery hide, his breath coming out slowly. He purses his lips, before he speaks slowly and carefully.]
My Queen, I would be your advisor, your good friend ... and much more, but before all that, there are things you must know about me. About my past, about who I used to be, and how I became who I am now.
action;
[She'd almost forgotten that he'd come to Mereen... probably because for her it had not happened yet. She hadn't really touched upon the subject, choosing to merely accept their relationship as it was now.]
Unless you've been exiled for selling slaves and selling my secrets to the highest bidder, I highly doubt I will find much to judge of your past.
[She hadn't judged Jorah for his, and yet that last bit - oh she'd wished he had died that day she'd sent him off on that mission for her to capture Yunkai. It would have been more final than the lingering regrets she had for exiling him.]
I am the daughter of a King made famous for lighting his victims aflame for sport and the sister to a prince who chose to kidnap another man's betrothed, dooming himself, his Northern girl, and the rest of Westeros along with him. I doubt the sins of your past can even reach those heights, but I will not dissuade you from telling it to me. I trust you. I want you to feel as if you can trust me in return.
Re: action;
[A pause, then a dry laugh.] All right, you have me there. I never could forget that while my father was cruel, yours was absolutely mad.
[He pulls his hand away carefully, sighing softly as he looked across the room and a million miles away.]
A long time ago ...I was married. I was all but thirteen at the time. My brother and I were off riding when we came across a young woman, scant years older than myself, who was being set up by thugs. We saved her, and she ... and I, became enamored of one another. I ran away with her, and we lived in wedded bliss for a few weeks. She was a crofter's daughter, a simple, pretty thing - but I loved her.
[He could still hear the song she used to sing - Tysha - and his father's words echoing in his mind. He closed his eyes and continued.] My father found out about the marriage - and he sent my brother to bring me home. He told me ... that what Tysha had told me was a lie, that he had paid her to pretend to love me. That she was nothing more than a whore. To emphasize that, my father had her brought to Casterly Rock. He had our entire guard ... rape her, and each of them gave her a silver coin.
[He looked down at his hands.] And then he made me go last - to give her a golden coin - because Lannisters were worth ... more.
[Oh, that hurt. That still hurt, and he could feel the pain and the guilt and the self-hatred all over again.]
Some ... fifteen years later, and here I was, accused of murdering Joffrey. My woman, Shae, had given testimony against me - all lies. My champion had lost, and I was merely waiting for death. My brother comes to save me and he - well. He tells me that he has lied. That Tysha had never been a whore, that she had been a crofter's daughter and my father ... my father simply could not deal with the shame of a Lannister marrying a commoner.
[His smile twists, bitterly.] We destroyed that girl - all for my father's shame - and I had a hand in it. Destroying what I loved. So ... I said some very nasty things to my brother. I ripped into him, and then ... and then I crawled through the narrow stone pathways to reach my father. I found out that Shae ... beautiful Shae, in his bed, wearing his necklace of the Hand of the King. She tried to fight me - and I ... strangled her to death, with that very chain.
[Almost done. Almost.] Then I found my father in the privvy and demanded that he tell me where my wife was. He called her a whore again - and I told her if he called her a whore once more ... I would kill him. Right where he sat. Crossbow in hand. Of course my father could not resist - of course he would not give me what I wanted - of course he told me I was no son of his ...
So, of course I killed him.
action;
It was just as well that other men were so callous, so uncaring and cruel. Tyrion was none of those things. He had loved this woman and paid for it. One could not choose who they loved.]
He deserved it.
[It was the only thing she could say at the moment. In that small space of time she'd heard of Tywin Lannister, she hated him with every fiber of her being. She'd grown up hating him and men like him. They had murdered an innocent woman and children. Elia Martell could have lived had she not been unfortunate enough to marry into her family.]
He deserved what you did to him.
[Unconsciously, Dany clasps her hands together, as if she can trap in all the ugly feelings that threatened to pour out.]
What happened to her? Your Tysha.
Re: action;
He deserved worst ... and if I could have done that to him, I would have. I ... I was so enraged, Dany. I have never felt such rage in my entire life, but I killed two people in it. I fear the lion's rage would take me there again, if someone hurt another person I cared about.
[A pause, a long pause, and he lets out a shuddering sigh.] He would not tell me. All he would say was that she went where whores go. You will find it ... ridiculous but when I traveled across the sea, I looked for that place. To find her. To fall at her feet and beg her forgiveness. To let her end my life, if she willed it.
action;
[She takes a steadying breath, wishing she could say more consoling things. In a way she felt envious of this Tysha for knowing a Tyrion she would never meet. Even so, she was happy to have the one she knew now.]
Looking for her is not so ridiculous. When- [She falls quiet, almost stopping herself from speaking. She had hardly ever spoken of Drogo and the happiness they had shared, only for it to be snatched away.] When my husband fell ill, I trusted a maegi woman to heal him. She had promised me she would. She had used some strange dark ritual to do it, to bring him back to me. Instead he was empty and her words to me were "Until the sun sets in the east and rises in the west, until mountains blow in the wind like leaves..." so many impossible things... only then would Drogo come back to me. I wanted to believe it, but then my heart knew that I had trusted the wrong person and that he would not return. I wanted it so badly that it hurt. Instead I found purpose in Mereen.
[Even in Mereen, her heart had died with Drogo. She had been long dead with him and yet Daario had brought some small bit of her back.]
And now I have purpose here, with you.
[Her crew were good people. She was happy, so much more happy than she ever thought possible. Tyrion cared for her, as did many of her new friends. She had found a home even if it was not the house with the red door and her lemon tree beneath the window.]
Re: action;
[He looks back over at her, his smile tilting up at the edges, before it became more serious again. He rubbed his thumb along his beard.]
There is a place, somewhere, where we shall see all our beloved ones once more. I just hope they have the courage to believe us when we tell them that we tried loving as much as life itself. I think your Drogo already knows. I think he knows that you shall love him, no matter what. I just hope ... I just hope that one day, that you will be able to love again. Perhaps not as fiercely, or with much fire ... but with all the purpose you desire.
[He sighed, softly, before his smile warmed and defrosted. He offered his hand to her.]
We are in this together, you and I. From the flames we were cast down, and from flames we will rise again.
action;
Love can wait for however long it needs to. That is - [She laughs a bit sardonically as she speaks] Love is probably the farthest thing from my mind these days.
[Already she can pull Leto's words to her out of the back of her mind and it makes her shake her head a bit.]
You aren't the first to wish for such things on my behalf and you probably won't be the last, but... thank you for thinking of me. Perhaps we will rise again in flames... even more while your sister's joy burns to ashes at her feet.
[She had not met Cersei but the glimpses of his memories of her had given her enough emotion behind them to feel hate.]
Re: action;
Someone always should be thinking of you, My Queen. That is how we know we are affecting change in people's lives. You must burn brighter, and hotter, than I, so your shadow can cast farther than mine ever could.
[A pause, before his smile twists bitterly once more.]
She will find her end, soon enough.
action;
Yes, but I doubt even a political alliance could result in something so frivolous as love, my Lord.
[Though wasn't that wrong? She had essentially been sold to the Dothraki and Drogo had loved her more than she had ever expected to feel love in those early years. That too had burned to ash.]
Still... to know that you at least think of me - thank you. I- I do think of you, too. It's why I'm happy to make even that small dream, to meet a dragon, come true.
[Hesitantly she traces the curve in his cheek that forms when he smiles. It filled her with immeasurable emotions to make him smile.]
Re: action;
Hm, I have seen it happen. Rarely, but it has happened. Look at Ned and Catelyn Stark. Married for power, fell in love.
[He shrugged elegantly, before he looked up at her with a startled look. Then his gaze softened, as did the crooked smile on his lips.]
Small dreams, small happy moments. It is not the worst thing to wish for, I think.
action;
Her smlie faltering, Dany lowers her hand, resting it against her desk beside Drogon.]
What was he really like? Ser Barristan told me things but... your family was his enemy too. For so long I thought he was a conspirator of Tywin Lannister, a dog that served the Usurper beside him that stole my family's throne. I want to believe he was good... that he deserved love and family and all of that, but part of me still wants to hate the lot of them.
Re: action;
Ned Stark was a good man. An honorable man. He only went to war with your father because your father had his killed - not to mention his older brother. Neither one of them had come to your father's court to speak treason ... only to demand, as Stark honor does, that Prince Rhaegar pay for his crimes and return Lyanna Stark to her family. That, my Queen, is the virtue, and the downfall, of all the Starks. They hold honor higher than they hold their own lives ... and they have often paid with them.
action;
[Honestly it makes her sad, to know that her family had done such horrible things. What right did she have to demand a seat of power in a land where they would be required to bend the knee to her? What right did she have to force it upon them?]
Then... do you think it wrong of me to want to unite the Seven Kingdoms again? Including the North. They would want to stay separated, I imagine, but I.. I only want to go home. They want the same thing, Robb Stark and his siblings. Their home was taken from them, as was mine.
Re: action;
A Targaryan brought us together in the first place - it seems only right they unite us once more. You are a new light in a time of darkness, Daenrys. You simply need to know how your people work, so you can rule them effectively. Promise the Starks revenge against those who have wronged them, and you will have their loyalty. The North remembers.

[She was definitely of Northern blood, right down to her veins. It wasn't that the girl was cold, only reminded Dany very much of looking into a wall of ice. She blocked civility between them at every turn, just as her brother did in the beginning. Each of their conversations had been lined with tension, their last being about Drogon.]
She- [She laughs at this, almost in disbelief.] She implied that I keep Drogon away from the Iskaulit because she fears him. She doesn't want him in her presence. I had no idea what to say to that in a polite manner, if at all.
[She'd wanted to say something not so polite about the topic, but she refrained in the end.]
