I do hope you all know how to dance. I have managed to secure an open invitation for myself, and however many guests I wish, to a gala in seven days, on Adsum. Hopefully it's not entirely dull, but they would need at least three murders to make for an exciting evening...I wouldn't hold my breath, were I you.

Do let me know if you're interested. And I warn you, you had better make yourself fit for being seen in public.

I don't think that murdering slaves makes for cheap excitement, no. It's regrettable and reprehensible, and a sign of the corruption and excesses in the Magisterium. My levity was ill-placed.

[Kaneis can tell he's taken aback. Right, he guesses the guy, like most nobles, is not used to being called out by someone who doesn't have an obvious rank. If anything, it's a good sign the guy listened to him instead of trying to pull rank as he knows other nobles might try (even if that always did amuse him)]

[So, he'll go easy on him]

Ill-placed, yes, but I think everyone's said something in poor taste at some time or another. Just be more thoughtful with your wit next time, hm?

And...I will hope for the best. That your homeland will get that poison rooted out of it- as you put it.

I'd imagine it'd take a lot of work, like change in anyone's homeland. But...it's by no means impossible.

[He doesn't know if Dorian is the sort who is already planning to try to change their home. Maybe he is, or maybe he's someone that wants to just sit and complain. Either way, a gentle nudge of hope can hardly hurt]

I suppose I cannot fault a man for wanting a bit of drama, but I can only hope that knife hair cutting doesn't become a trend. It's bad enough that Fenris does it. At least he manages to look presentable.
