[If there's one thing that can be said about Sokka, is that when he decides to put his all into something, he really goes for it. He'd originally headed to Savvy to try and take his mind off Beverly. That there's still been no sign of her. Not even a whisper.

Turns out Savvy was really good for taking his mind off it. The Savvy people were his people. The weird tendency he has for thinking so far out of the box that he was in a different planet than the box is something that's cherished here. And Sokka really does love being appreciated.

He hasn't forsaken the usual Water Tribe Blue he wears, though he has accented his outfit with a green bandanna and belt. The people seem to forgive his spirit-esque faux-pas with his outfit for his endless offerings of actually-useful inventions and animal traps. He's grinning at the video from where he's sitting in one of the workshops. He's working on something that looks very explosive.

You can tell because it has "warning: explosive" stamped on the side of it.]

Guys, have you checked out the Savvy guys yet? Everyone here is amazing! I mean, aside from the green, and the lack of water, they would absolutely be Water Tribe people.

[He grins and waves a hand at the explodey thing.]

They even let me work in their workshops all the time! These people. [He lets out a fond sniffle] They're my people.

Also the best, so Spirit and and Moxxy can go suck on a penguinotter.

[He beams.]

I have! I mean, I still have a load of meat left over from the last place, but the grounds are still amazing! And they're little bird things from back home.

Hey Adalwolfe I'm Sokka and-

...Wait. Hawke? Are you like...Garrett's brother or something?

[Guess which ship the previous guy Hawke was on board? That's right, the Blue Fish. Guess who doesn't follow the general Thedosian drama? Thaaaaaaaaaat's right. ]

Sure, brother is as good an explanation as any.

[Adalwolfe grins ruefully, not really wanting to explain the alternate universe thing all over again. He got lucky with Beverly already understanding the concept but he's not sure he'll be that lucky again. Maker, he has a hard enough time wrapping his own head around it.]

Can never have too much meat though, honestly. Thank the Maker for refrigerators or I'm fairly certain my dog would hold a one canine riot over protein paste.

It's complicated, huh?

[His tone is interested, but not pushy. One thing he has understood is that things can get really freaking complicated in the lives of people brought here. It's none of his business. ]

That's so true. There's no such thing as too much meat. I mean, come on, it's the best food there is. It's brain food.

[Oh, why not. He can stand to try and explain it once more.]

Very. He's me, but from an alternative version of the world I'm from. We're from, rather. Marian's the same, so I just consider her a sister and have done with it. So brother for Garrett does work, I suppose.

[Actually that wasn't so bad this time. Maybe he's just getting the hang of explaining, even if it's somehow more awkward talking about a non-present alternate male version of himself. Wolfe has to wonder what different decisions that Hawke made, contrary to himself and Marian.]

Are you a hunter?

Wow. That is complicated. And I thought my friend frozen for one hundred years as a twelve year old was complicated. You win the complicated trophy. Congrats, you must be very proud.

[He brightens up, nodding.]

Sure am. It's a way of life, back in my home tribe. I figure it can't hurt to get extra meat in for my crew here, too.

Is there a trophy? I'd quite like one, as a consolation if anything. Though I don't know, a hundred years is a long time.

[He snorts at the ludicrous conversation, running fingers through his beard briefly, then leans back. This Sokka kid is alright.]

That's not a bad idea. I should bring some back for my ship to store too. It'd probably be appreciated.

If there isn't there should be one. Maybe we should make one. Hand it out every year for the most complicated you've made your life that year. It can be a fancy awards ceremony.

[Any excuse for great food. ]

Well, if you ever need any extra meat, or some help hunting, I'm always happy to lend a hand.

Absolutely, it could say 'deepest condolences' on it in gold filigree.

[He snorts, totally not willing to let the idea of the stupid trophy go. He wants to make that happen now. Thanks Sokka.]

I was actually going to head down in a bit. Ser Drools needs some exercise and while the First Breath is pretty well stocked, the Three Twins is lacking in meat stores.

[Which is where he's spending quite a lot of his time lately. Blame Anders. Or rather, blame Adalwolfe's seemingly physical inability to be away from Anders for more than a few hours at a stretch since he's woken up.]

You could join me if you like.

Sounds like a perfect trophy to me.

[GOOD, make it happen! ]

Sure, why not, it's pretty relaxing, after all.

Alright, an hour from now at the northern grounds. I'll bring my dog and we can share what we bring back between our ships. Sound like a plan?

[With a small addendum.]

Well, after we eat our share for a job well done of course.

That sounds like a perfect plan to me, from the meeting right down to the eating. It's flawless.

I'm amazing like that.

[He has to resist the urge to pose, then decides not to, turning so he's in profile and brings one hand up to his chin majestically. What a loser.]

[Wolfe grins as he shuts off the call, getting up to go about getting ready.]

[An hour later, true to his word, Adalwolfe is just inside the northern hunting grounds on planet, his wrinkle of an adolescent dog at his knee, painted with whirls of green on his russet fur. Adalwolfe himself is leaning on a rather impressive staff formed in the likeness of a dragon, though while it does have a useful blade on one end, the dragon is missing a gem from its mouth on the other. Hawke just hasn't found one he likes enough to use as a focus yet. He's in full Champion armor, fur mantle and all, though it looks a bit silly with a green scarf tucked up under the jut of his gorget and matting down the fur. The moment he sees Sokka, he waves him over with a grin.]

Glad you could make it.

[At least Sokka is used to mabari by now, Riona's is a pretty important resident of the Blue Fish. As such, he grins leaning down to pet him. Dogs are the best. Dogs are actually useful. He thinks the staff has something to do with magic, but he isn't a hundred per cent on that. He gets confused with all these other worlds. Still, it looks cool and it has a sharp point bit, that's all that matters in the end, right?

Sokka is wearing his regular water tribe gear, carrying with him a spear, a hunting knife, and his boomerang on his back. He grins, giving Adalwolfe a small wave. ]

Likewise. You ready to get some delicious meat?

[Drools is very excited to have another new very best friend and jumps up a bit to lick all over Sokka's face. Adalwolfe laughs and whistles in a very specific way through his teeth, which apparently means stop and sit because Drools does just that. His little stub tail keeps wagging though.]

Ready and able.

[He spins his staff and puts it against his back, where it just... stays. Magically.]

I've got feathers from the tallbirds and some other various fur and things for Drools to sniff. Just let me know what you want to go after.

[Sokka laughs, seemingly unfazed by any of this. Seriously, dogs are great.

He kind of turns his head to stare at Adalwolfe's back. How is it doing that?? MAGNETS?!!!!!]

Tallbirds are actually perfect.

[Yeah. It's got to be magnets. He straightens. ]

They've got great meat on them, and they're real easy to butcher and cook.

Tallbirds it is then.

[That decided, Adalwolfe produces a feather from one of the pouches at his hip and crouches down to offer it to Drools for a sniff. Obediently, the dog takes several good whiffs and then starts sniffing the air, then the ground, then trots off towards the east, expecting his companions to follow.]

Looks like he's got the scent already.

[Wolfe puts the feather back in his pouch and starts off after his dog at a liesurely pace.]</small

Wow, this makes tracking a hundred times easier, not even kidding. We'll find 'em before we know it.

[He'll follow in step with Adalwolfe.]

So. How're you liking the planets so far?

One of the many reasons dogs are incredibly awesome.

I like the planets much better than the ships, but this one's been interesting. A lot of technology I'm not used to. Are things like cars and those big sound amplifiers at the concerts normal for you or are you just as lost as I am?

Oh no, not normal for me at all. We have steam powered stuff and that's about it. Everything else is powered by bending. When I first came here, the whole concept of space and all this technology was completely new to me.

[He offers a smile. ]

Buuuut I've been here for nearly two years now, so I got used to it. Plus having an engineering augment helps a lot. Still, going home and coming back means I have a little while to get readjusted to all of this all over again.

New to me too. The augment helped a lot but there's gaps. I guess they don't want to just plop everything into your brain. Being communications helped with the transmitters, at least.

[He takes his out of a pouch, waving it a little bit to illustrate.]

We're using carrier ravens back home. This was definitely new. I wish we had them. Just sending out a text 'oh no there's a Blight get out of Ferelden' would have saved a lot of lives.

That's good! It probably gave you an edge on stuff like beaming people aboard and whatnot.

[Sokka huff out a laugh, nodding. ]

I hear that. We have messenger hawks back home. Mine actually showed up here after the hand holding tree thing. But even then, it wasn't a big thing in the South Pole. Sending messages to other parts of the world meant actually sending a person off TO them.

Beaming?

[What? He hasn't even looked into that on the ships yet, instead borrowing the shuttle to get anywhere. Adalwolfe may be a relatively smart guy but he has absolutely no frame of reference for technology. The trash compactor was a revelation.]

The tree gave you your animal buddy too? Nice. Gotta love that tree. That's how I got Drools back, too. But yeah, I can see how birds wouldn't do well in snow and all that. They get lost easier, so people running letters can be more reliable. Except if they run into bandits that could be an issue. Or darkspawn. Tal-Vashoth, rogue blood mages, rogue Templars, red Templars, [He starts counting on his fingers.] Venatori, rogue Wardens, demons, rifts, wayward spirits, shambling corpses, varterral, giant spiders, dragons, coterie, Carta, cultists... oh, and bears.

Yeah! You press a button and it can transport people from one ship to another. Without them getting on a shuttle or anything.

[Damnit, Wolfe. ]

...I have no idea what most of those things are, but I'm gonna go with 'bad'.

Basically, but now we're in a world where apparently you can teleport without magic so that's good!

[And amazing.]

Which.. I can't even do. I never learned to Fade Step, and it can only take you a few feet anyway.

Oh yeah, it's really neat. Makes life a lot easier when you have to bring someone aboard in a hurry.

[There's a pause because huh, actual magical teleporting. Not even Aang can do that. Not really. ]

That's cool, though. The closest we have back home for that is earthbenders, and they're just going into the ground before they pop up somewhere else, so it doesn't really count.
