[ He is vaguely curious. ]

What kind of stories?

A favorite my eldest grandson likes to hear is the story of the stars being placed in the heavens for the Elves to wake under and how it led our people to our home.

But! You will have to come for story time to hear the rest!

[beardstrokes]

[ He sighs softly, but a smile reaches his eyes. ]

Wonderful! [And Finwe certainly notices, pleased.]

Come, Findekano assured me he left some cakes in the kitchen, you should join me.

[ He gestures. ]

Actually, I was hoping you would know the way. [Finwe admitted with a laugh.] I am still learning my way around this new ship.

[beardstrokes]

[ He nods. Obi-Wan should have expected that. ]

My thanks. [Finwe followed beside Obi-Wan.}

How have you been otherwise? [He asked as they walked, he was concerned for Obi-Wan.]

[ He adjusts his robes as they make their way towards the kitchen. ]

I'm all right. The faction work keeps me occupied.

That's good to hear. I hope you're not in any trouble, it seems there is a great deal of tension between the factions. [He had seen violence in the land of eternal peace and he wouldn't get in the middle of any conflict now if he could help it.]

[ Normally, a Jedi would be called in to smooth things over. He and Qui-Gon have done it plenty of times. Now . . . ]

No. Not on my end, at least.

I am not fond of factions, I've had enough of that, personally. It doesn't accomplish anything. [Finwe admitted as they entered the kitchen. Just as his grandson promised there were a small plate of cookies along with a note in Elvish which made Finwe smile fondly.]

Findekano loves to cook and make sweets, he will make you anything you want, Obi-Wan.

The Huntress would certainly appreciate a good cook.

[ Obi-Wan himself was no connoisseur. He grabs a cookie unconsciously though. ]

But I believe that's the majority here. No one on the Fleet enjoys the idea of a needless fight.

[Finwe took one as well, pleased that Obi-Wan helped himself.]

That is good to know. Peace is very precious and should be protected. It can be lost in a moment.

[He had let darkness creep in once and he regretted it. He should have known before everything was ruined.]

So I've come to realize.

[ Anakin and Ahsoka have always lived under the shadow of war, but Obi-Wan remembers an easier life. ]

I will have to tell you about Valinor, in the days before the darkness came. [Finwe promised with a soft smile.]

And the Trees, that is a great story.

[ His brow creases. ]

The . . . Trees?

Telperion and Laurelin, the gold and silver Trees. [He seems brighter for a moment, his expression fond. The Trees are special like that.]

Would you like to hear that story? We should go to my quarters where it's comfortable, it's a long tale.

[ His curiosity wins out. Obi-Wan always enjoyed the culmination of myths and facts. Deep down, he's always had a fondness for exploration and discovery. ]

All right. I suppose it would be rude of me to refuse.

[Finwe grabbed the plate of cookies and cake to take with them as he lead the way back to his quarters.]

I hope you will like the tale though this will be the first I've shared our history with one of the Secondborn. I think it's fitting though, we can learn from each other.

[Given he didn't need to sleep Finwe had instead rearranged his quarters to make it more of a comfortable sitting space with pillows and folded blankets.]

Make yourself comfortable, when we tell tales it's all together. There is no formality.

[ Obi-Wan sits down carefully, straightening his robes with his hands. Formality may not be required, but he's been trained to behave formally. ]

Who are the Secondborn?

Ah we should start at the beginning then.

[Finwe took a seat on a pillow, setting the plate of sweets between them.]

We should start in the beginning with Eru, our Creator, and the Music which shapes our world. All that was, all that is, and all that ever will be.

I'm sorry, did you say Creator?

[ Because that's a little too fantastical, even for Obi-Wan. The Force is, in a way, a creator, but even the Force can't be given that kind of credit. ]
