[The location might be a little more over the top than what Riona would expect, and yet this is Leliana we are talking about, alright. Not only that but she tried her best along with Marian and Beverly to make this a party the Ferelden Queen can remember. It truly was a party for the ages, as much as could be done at least.

Guests are greeted at the entrance with tables lined with simple table cloth, balloons and streamers and candles as a centerpiece. Finding a seat should not be terribly hard, though Leliana fully expects the errant party crasher which is why there is enough food for everyone. And booze, of course. It would not be a Thedas crew party without copious amounts of alcohol.]

[There is a small table off to the side for Presents and various other celebratory gifts (cards are totally fine). Hopefully no one with sticky fingers decides to make off with anything...? The bard is watching.]

Seating

[There are seats lined with plates for everyone to fill with food, starting with little complimentary cheese wheels on toothpicks. Anyone closely acquainted with Alistair might get the inside joke (or maybe that is just Riona and Leliana?) and there are also be glasses for non-alcoholic or alcoholic drinks alike. Guests are welcome to sit and chatter with their table mates or sit awkwardly in silence if they wish. No judgement, of course.

Except for Fenris. All the judgment for Fenris.]

Food/Punch Bowl

[Leliana has tried her best to find as much diverse food as she can, but for the most part if someone serves it that is what guests get. The same goes for alcohol - available at the bar or of the non alcoholic variety by the cheese wheel refills. For dessert there are also little cookies, carefully cut into the shape of a nug or mabari - sort of. Leliana's not a culinary genius, okay.]

What happened to "let's not make a big deal out of my birthday"? I specifically remember mentioning that.

[She's just gonna keep glaring as she takes a drink of her punch.]

[Riona was pretty damn thoroughly surprised. She shouldn't have been, considering the source, but she foolishly let her guard down and managed to almost have a minor heart attack. Thanks, Lels.

Initial grumbling aside, she's enjoying herself. It's a little bit of home here, what with her family colors and the cheese wheels. It makes her a little nostalgic, and with it comes a pang of homesickness, but she shoves that all away.

She'll really be found everywhere, being a good birthday girl and mingling with all the guests. Later in the night, she'll even finally allow herself a few glasses of wine.

[Leliana is smiling like a cat that caught a canary. See, the thing was - she heard Riona but someone forgot to specify what 'not a big deal' would entail. To Leliana this is not a big deal. There were no fire jugglers and no knife throwing. Very tame standards.]

[Cole comes.

He's hiding, of course. Fenris might be there and he doesn't want to upset Fenris, so he's sitting against a wall and making people overlook him with a soft exertion of will. He just wants to see Riona and then he'll probably flee again to let Fenris enjoy the party without having to worry about him.

But he lets Riona see him when she arrives, loosening his grip on unreality and giving her a very faint smile.

He has three slugs with him, all on his hat.]

[Riona finds herself pulled in so many directions. She almost misses Cole, but she spots him from the corner of her eye. Her face lights up and she goes over to greet him.]

Cole! I almost didn't see you there. Why are you hiding over here? [She kneels next to him.]

And thus more the reason to tell her. Look how exciting this all is - she helped me, you know. On short notice too.

[You should clearly be happy and thank Bev, Riona. How rude!!]

I'm only teasing. Please don't be angry. I only wanted you to have a time to enjoy yourself. Between the Blight, hearing far too much from me and others about the future, and probably having far too much on your shoulders as you always do - I thought you needed to remember.

[She won't finish that sentiment. She wants to say 'to remember that you are loved' but she knew that went without saying.]

Look, I even made sure there were little cheese wheels and cookies shaped like mabari.

[To be fair some of them looked less like mabari and more like squishy little cookie dark spawn but hey - she tried.]

[Fenris absolutely does no do parties. At all. Ever.

As such, he'll be skulking about by here, getting a good amount of alcohol, before wandering off to find a corner to skulk in- hoping everyone will just leave him alone.

[Sokka is carefully putting down a long, wrapped parcel that's...actually pretty heavy. The wrapping job is pretty much on par with a five year old trying to wrap up a stick, but hey, at least it's all covered up.

It also has a metric ton of stickytape and string holding it together. Honestly, it's the most ugly ass parcel in the universe. ]

[Okay, Ri has to admit... that parcel (however terribly wrapped) looks pretty damn intriguing.]

It looks as if it's holding something in from trying to escape. [She laughs.] May I have the honor of unleashing it?

[Riona looks a little guilty as she steps over towards Fenris, hands behind her back.]

As this Riona's birthday, of course Tyrion is on hand, if not out of sight Leliana is somewhat frightening and Riona ... well. Riona has become a friend, someone Tyrion wants to protect.

So he wanders around with a glass of water, chatting up people here and there, keeping himself on the edge of the party as much as possible. He isn't here to do anything but be here for his friend.

I am fine. I am just not very good at...socialising.

[She lets out a long suffering sigh, but it'd accompanied by a smile.]

I'm not really mad. Exasperated, maybe, but not angry. I suppose a party really can't hurt much, can it?

Fenris? Wh- Oh of course he would take issue with you. [Cue internal grumbling about grumpy elves and their dislike of spirits.] You're my guest, Cole. You have as much right to be here. And if he threatens you, you come find me.

But yes, birthdays should be quite happy. They're a day to celebrate the life of a person, and their turning a year older.

[Threatens? Fenris has already made it clear what he'll do to Cole if he ever sees him and Cole would rather not cause that hurt, fear or feel it in himself. Fenris and Cole are just a recipe for disaster.]

I think I scare him. So I just make I'm not where he is. Ever. But today I'll risk it for a little while.

It's celebrating ongoing survival?

Riona finally makes her way to Tyrion, dodging around party goers and avoiding being sucked into yet another conversation.

"This is why having an Orlesian as a friend is dangerous," she says as she slides next to him. "They go and throw parties behind your back. The nerve." Her smiles reveals her teasing, even if she is a bit exasperated about the whole thing.

Tyrion gives her a warm smile as she approaches, bowing from the waist down to the floor - it's not much of a reach honestly - then rises with graze.

"Yes, such a pity a friend cares about you enough to throw you a namesday party." He stated with a completely straight face. "We should just go and throw her directly out of an airlock."

He takes a moment to sip the wine in his hand, his mis-matched eyes gleaming up at Riona with humor.

[She takes the gift with a smile. Of course, she has to take a moment to poke and shake it a little, trying to guess what it is. She has a feeling, but...]

It doesn't bite, does it? [She's completely kidding.]

[It's all good-natured teasing, though she hopes he doesn't take it the wrong way.]

Thank you. I am, however... unexpected it is. [She huffs.] The pitfalls of having an Orlesian-raised woman as a best friend.

He very much distrusts anything to do with spirits, I've noticed.

That's one way of putting it. I think it's just a way of also celebrating a person. A birthday is meant to be their day. Sometimes, if they turn a certain age, there's even more celebration, like when a child reaches the age of adulthood.
