It wouldn't be a Coulsand-Theirin Birthday Bash Without Cheese Wheels~
Who: Riona, Leliana and friends of the birthday girl /o/ (also new friends are welcome too)
Broadcast: N/a
Action: The Space Bar
When: Evening, September 3rd (now basically)

[The location might be a little more over the top than what Riona would expect, and yet this is Leliana we are talking about, alright. Not only that but she tried her best along with Marian and Beverly to make this a party the Ferelden Queen can remember. It truly was a party for the ages, as much as could be done at least.
Guests are greeted at the entrance with tables lined with simple table cloth, balloons and streamers and candles as a centerpiece. Finding a seat should not be terribly hard, though Leliana fully expects the errant party crasher which is why there is enough food for everyone. And booze, of course. It would not be a Thedas crew party without copious amounts of alcohol.]

It also has a metric ton of stickytape and string holding it together. Honestly, it's the most ugly ass parcel in the universe. ]

It looks as if it's holding something in from trying to escape. [She laughs.] May I have the honor of unleashing it?

Hey, Riona, happy birthday!
[He holds it out to her. ]
Well, it's your birthday gift, so if anyone else did it, I'd call shenanigans.

Nevermind, the Chantry's right, mages are a blight on the world.
Even if he'd initially had no intention of making an appearance before, he'd still gotten Riona a gift regardless. Something small in a fancy box he'd picked out from one of the Savvy shops with finer, more intricate designs. He hopes she likes it. He'd fretted over it to Anders for some time, wondering if it was inappropriate to give her jewelry even if its just a brooch and not something as meaningful as a ring, or if she even liked jewelry. When he'd started questioning if she'd even like the mabari design, Anders had made such a disgusted noise at him he finally shut up.
As it is he sets the box down, taking a surreptitious look around to see if anyone saw him, deciding if it's an anonymous gift then maybe that would be better. Or more cowardly? Maybe he should just retreat back to a chair against the wall and not talk to anyone for the rest of the night. Maker, this is worse than Kirkwall parties. This is worse than Duke Prosper's party, and he'd almost been killed several times then!
Actually it's kind of hard to top that...]

[You've been caught, Hawke. Riona stands just behind him, arms clasped behind her back with a small smile on her lips.]
no subject
Uh.
Anders brought me.
[He finishes lamely, putting the onus on his boyfriend if Riona didn't actually want him there and immediately regretting it. Not his finest moment.]
I know we're not-- [Friends? Bosom buddies? Able to stay in the same room as one another for more than ten minutes without something uncomfortable coming up?] close, but I wanted to get you something anyway.

Seating
Except for Fenris. All the judgment for Fenris.]
no subject
He's hiding, of course. Fenris might be there and he doesn't want to upset Fenris, so he's sitting against a wall and making people overlook him with a soft exertion of will. He just wants to see Riona and then he'll probably flee again to let Fenris enjoy the party without having to worry about him.
But he lets Riona see him when she arrives, loosening his grip on unreality and giving her a very faint smile.
He has three slugs with him, all on his hat.]
no subject
Cole! I almost didn't see you there. Why are you hiding over here? [She kneels next to him.]
no subject
But I wanted to come and see you. I don't understand birthdays, but I know they're meant to be happy!

[There is so much glaring right now. So much. Gurrrrrrrrrl you are dead meat.]
What happened to "let's not make a big deal out of my birthday"? I specifically remember mentioning that.
[She's just gonna keep glaring as she takes a drink of her punch.]
B. For everyone else
[Riona was pretty damn thoroughly surprised. She shouldn't have been, considering the source, but she foolishly let her guard down and managed to almost have a minor heart attack. Thanks, Lels.
Initial grumbling aside, she's enjoying herself. It's a little bit of home here, what with her family colors and the cheese wheels. It makes her a little nostalgic, and with it comes a pang of homesickness, but she shoves that all away.
She'll really be found everywhere, being a good birthday girl and mingling with all the guests. Later in the night, she'll even finally allow herself a few glasses of wine.
So come say hi and wish her a happy birthday, or whatever else suits your fancy.]
A of course
I know! This is just a small gathering of friends, is all.
["Small"]
Did you honestly think I could get away with not telling at least Beverly?
no subject
[It draws a lot of attention to her and therefore it is not small, thank you very much.]
Yes, I could, considering she just came back three days ago!

And that was no surprise, the Commander was vivacious and loving and he didn't know a single person who couldn't look at her and love her. Except for that one tart that tried to have her killed, but people were also wrong sometimes.
So he just maintained and helped where he could to make sure the party continued without issue and, once things had calmed down and some of the guests had left, he sat beside her. Part of him wished he could join her with his own glass of wine, but there'd be little point in it.
He let his arm brush hers and slid over a little box with Spirit's colors emblazoned on it.]
I got you something, I hope it's the right shade of blue.

Riona is sitting to catch her breath a moment, but she looks up and smiles when she sees Anders plunking down next to her.]
Oh, you didn't have to!
[Her brow wings up at the little box. She takes it and pops it open. Maker, it's a lovely ring. But of course, she has to react accordingly. As dramatic as possible, Riona slaps a hand over her heart.]
But Anders, I'm already married!

As such, he'll be skulking about by here, getting a good amount of alcohol, before wandering off to find a corner to skulk in- hoping everyone will just leave him alone.
What, this still counts as making an effort, right? ]

[Riona looks a little guilty as she steps over towards Fenris, hands behind her back.]

Around ...
So he wanders around with a glass of water, chatting up people here and there, keeping himself on the edge of the party as much as possible. He isn't here to do anything but be here for his friend.

"This is why having an Orlesian as a friend is dangerous," she says as she slides next to him. "They go and throw parties behind your back. The nerve." Her smiles reveals her teasing, even if she is a bit exasperated about the whole thing.
no subject
"Yes, such a pity a friend cares about you enough to throw you a namesday party." He stated with a completely straight face. "We should just go and throw her directly out of an airlock."
He takes a moment to sip the wine in his hand, his mis-matched eyes gleaming up at Riona with humor.
