It's been a few days since Katie and Max recovered her from the avalanche she unwittingly started. It has taken that time for her to feel like she's back in the land of the living and not teetering on some cold abyssal edge; she's still sore, her movements careful and ginger, but she's got her wits about her and she's never been so happy to be warm again. While the ship isn't anywhere near the scorching temperatures she experienced back home, in relation to the burning cold she just dealt with she's grateful for a secure, safe environment.

She's also grateful for the outpouring of help and friendship, evidenced in the aftermath with Max and Tyrion's posts to the network. She wouldn't normally go out of her way to make such a public statement, but she recognizes the effort that went in to finding her, even outside of the one who was finally successful.

The video feed opens to a view of her in her bunk. She's still recovering, continuing to let Tyrion have control of the ship until she's sure she'll be able to handle it (and, perhaps, get a replacement arm for the one she lost in her foolishness). Her face is worn, and craggy from her bout with the elements, but she looks happy, hopeful.]

I am back. I am safe, and it's thanks to you. [She still isn't a woman of many words, but there's careful thought put into the ones she chooses to use.]

[Tyrion snorts from the background, where he is reviewing all of the ship readouts, as Furiosa speaks, and he calls out to her.] Succinct as always, Captain.

[You can hear the smirk there, sarcasm and all.]

[Furiosa sets her comm device in her lap as she turns the feed off, calling back to him with a voice that rasps when she speaks up.]

I'm not about to bore them with details.

[Or rather, she'd prefer to forget the whole experience in the first place.]

[Tyrion walks the short distance down the hall from the cockpit to the captain's quarters, arching an eyebrow at Furiosa.]

I would point out that what happened to you would hardly be called boring. Closer to harrowing, if I could put a name on it. However ... I understand not wanting to share the details about battle scars.

[He gestured to his face, his mouth twisting slightly.] As you can see.

I appreciate it. [She gives him a soft smile back. Really, in this case, it was more embarrassing than anything, but considering her past she just preferred not to talk about things.]

I guess, technically, these are your quarters now.

Yes, well. [He quirked a grin at her, before he gave her a flat look.]

No, they are your quarters. You are a Captain, the Captain. I am ... First Mate, temporary Captain.

You might have to be for a little while longer. I feel fine as long as I'm sitting still but the moment I go to move, it's like un-oiled gears and rusted pistons. [Sore, sluggish, an overall feeling of fatigue.]

You seem to be handling it quite well so far, I might take an extended vacation.

[He frowned for a long moment -- but there was no denying it. She was in rough shape. One would be, after having a mountain fall on them. After a moment he rolled his eyes at her, smirking.]

Yes, yes, laze about here while I go around and have people trying to take me out instead of you. I see your clever plan -- I am a smaller target so harder to hit. Well, I'll go along with it - for now - but I'm onto you.

[He tapped his nose, his smirk turning into a teasing smile.]

[She offers him a crooked smile and a small chuckle back.] You can see right through me.

[But the fact of the matter was, their friendship has come a long way, and it's one of the most telling signs to her of her progress here, away from her world and its harsh realities.]

I do need to ask one serious favor, but it can wait until I'm back in the chair.

Yes, well. It's not like you are being difficult to read ... [He smirked on her, before he leaned against the wall.

The fact that he now cared about her well-being this much, was a sign of how much they had both gone, frankly.]

Oh? Well, I would prefer that you would ask now ... but I can wait. Patience is a strong point of mine.

[She nods, then gives the stump of her left arm a little wave.]

I'll need another arm. I can manage without it, but it can be useful. I figured this might be something you could cobble together?

[Now, Tyrion's eyebrows lifted in interest.]

Actually ... I've had some, what is that phrase? On the job training. A young man named Hiro had a number of us engineers come in and consult on rebuilding an arm rather like yours.

Is that so? Then you're exactly the man for the job. [It was handy having someone so adept with scrap on the ship. She'd been impressed with his firearm work and had ever confidence he'd be able to put something together for her. She was also greatly relieved that he agreed to help her. Again, it stirred up no small amount of wonder to how far their friendship had come.]

I should probably tell you my kill switch sequence.

[Not that it made a whole lot of sense on a ship that the Atroma could control, but she hoped it would be a deterrent if any other ship captains tried to take control of it.]

That is so. I have learned a great deal about engineering from that. So your arm shouldn't be a problem.

[And now ...

Huh.

Amusement flashed over his face.]

I am absolutely not surprised -- and this will par with the question that I was going to ask you - might I have permission to try to backwards engineer the signal that broadcasted through when we were out of communication? I want to try and see if I can track who precisely was shielding us.

[Furiosa looks over at him with interest.] Yes. Do that, and keep me updated. I want to know who's on our tail.

As you order, Captain. [He tipped his head in a faint bow, giving her a smirk.]

You were the one that suggested it. I'm just agreeing; it's a good track to follow. If you're capable of figuring it out, do it. Don't let me stop you.

Well yes, but I am going to be amused that you are still in command, Captain. [Yeah, he's grinning now, but it shifts to a thoughtful look.]

I think it is possible - but I shall have to do more reading.

You can take the Imperator out of the Wastelands ... [It leaves a thoughtful expression on her face, that she hasn't been able to shake that part of her life.]

Whatever you're able to do, let me know

Well, all things considered ... I am glad to have you with us. In any form.

[He nods his head, marking that on his list.] I shall let you know.

[She looks at him with a soft expression, and smiles.]

Me too. I'm glad to know I've got someone I can count on here.

[His smile was actually gentle in turn, if not crooked. That was simply his way.]

As am I. I have your back, Furiosa. No matter the cost.

I was definitely wrong about you.

Furiosa, that is the nicest thing you have ever said to me ... I rather wish I had recorded it. [His mis-matched eyes flash amusement, and warmth.]

[She chuckles,] I'll leave you a voice recording sometime. You can listen to it when you can't sleep.

Ah, the dulcet tones of Furiosa, wafting me to sleep. I shall hold you to that.
