[ Kara is in the lecture hall on the Iskaulit, with materials strewn about. There's ribbon and fabric and pompoms and paper and, of course, GLITTER. She probably has some glitter on her cheek. She looks cheery and waves at the camera ]

Hi, Fleet! Fleeters. Have we come up with a demonym? Or a collective noun? "A floot of fleeters". Eh, needs work.

Anyway, I set up some arts & crafts in the lecture hall on the Iskaulit because it's been very hectic and stressful lately and I thought we could use some creative outlets! Consider this my contribution to the Fleet as someone with a personnel augment. Craft therapy!

So come on by, spread glitter around, and maybe even meet new people! I'll be here for awhile—my room could really use some sprucing up.

[ she waves again and cuts the feed, though she's more than happy to chat with people over the videolink. All are invited to the craft party though! ]

I don't know. Just tell me what you want to tell me.

[he huffs a little laugh] I wouldn't know where to start.

I guess - I mean, you knew about the school - know about it. We - recently formed the X-Men? With some of the students involved.

[takingkarabusiness]

Are you okay with it? Aren't they young?

[beathach]

They're teenagers. [he purses his lips a little] They helped us out, recently. Saved us, helped us save Charles, and stop someone else.

They're young, but they're not kids anymore. You know?

[takingkarabusiness]

Kind of.

But I can understand learning by necessity.

[beathach]

It's definitely a necessity.

They're good kids, though.

[takingkarabusiness]

Tell me about them?

[beathach]

[he frowns in thought for a moment, trying to remember what he's already told her in the past - which isn't that long ago, he has to remind himself]

You already know Peter, he hasn't changed. And I think you know Kurt?

There's Jean - she was one of our first students. She's a telepath, like Charles. She's . . . had issues due to her powers, but Charles works with her a lot. She's incredibly intelligent - she's one of my brightest students.

There's Scott - he's Alex's younger brother. [he pauses, frowning for a moment, before pushing on] We just recently enrolled him. His powers just manifested, so he's had a hard time with it, too. But he's made a lot of progress in the short time we've known him.

And - Ororo's also new. But I haven't had much time to get to know her, since things calmed down. [he quirks a smile] She wanted to stay, though. So that says a lot.

[takingkarabusiness]

They sound like a great bunch.

[beathach]

They are pretty great.

[takingkarabusiness]

What was the big thing that happened?

[beathach]

[the smile freezes on his face, before he takes a deep breath. He can talk about this. He remembers telling her about Cuba, about Washington]

A powerful mutant. [he lets out the breath he was holding] Apocalypse. We had to deal with him.

[takingkarabusiness]

I'm sure you and your team didn't let him live up to his name.

[beathach]

It was close. [he shrugs a little helplessly, before he forces something of a smile back] But he's dead.

[takingkarabusiness]

I'm sorry it came to that... but I know you're a great team.

[beathach]

Mmm. [that much he agrees with, even if it's a little bittersweet now] Raven's teaching them - training them, I should say.

[takingkarabusiness]

I bet she's really good at that, though maybe a little intimidating.

[beathach]

[that makes him grin]

She's very good at it. She even intimidates me.

[takingkarabusiness]

Come on, Hank. We know the right kind of butterfly could intimidate you.

[ or the persona you project ]

[beathach]

That's a little rude. I'm not that bad.

[takingkarabusiness]

You're really not. I'm just teasing, and full disclosure: I'm kind of intimidated by Raven too.

[beathach]

[he laughs a little]

I think she'd take it as a compliment, at least?

[takingkarabusiness]

I think she would. But hopefully she's warmed on me.

[beathach]

I'm sure she has.
