Ah, I might start planning my lecture. I said I would host one some time ago.

[He has some vague recollection of lectures being an occasional thing on the Fleet. And even of Charles talking about it.]

I might pick one of the books on the library. Hank said he'll cover genetics.

I might go there later myself. I don't fancy reading Dracula again.

You really need to broaden your reading material, Erik. Maybe T.H White? Or Stevensen. Even, god forbid, Hemingway.

I've read T.H. White, you know that. And how is that kind of comment meant to make me read Hemingway? [A brief pause.] Well, I meant more that Dracula was on the communicator, and I gave Hank back the books he lent to me.

Just try and look into something non-monster related.

I mostly read non-fiction. [He's not going to rise to the comment. He'd read Dracula because he recognised the title. Whatever Charles's thoughts on his reading habits, Erik doesn't seek out those kinds of books.]

It never hurts to look. Earth is still a fairly common denominator.

Yes. And if not, everything will be new. [There were few books he'd owned in his life. Most had been left behind or lost along the way. The ones that still existed were still at home, out of reach.]
