Can you only use them at waystations? That is, are there any other uses for them?

[That's right. Technically, Adachi had said that he'd wait for Crowley-san to show him around the moons first, but he'd gotten impatient and decided to explore on his own.]

[Adachi almost trips over his own feet.]

[Yeah, you're not getting off that easy Crowley. Adachi's gonna want to know more.]

But, wait- what does your augment have to do with it?!

They buggered about with them. The castle pulled that bullshit all the time, too. It happens.

What do you mean "they buggered about with them?" Who's they?! You mean Atroma? And what the hell does Paradisa have to do with it?!

[Uh oh, Adachi's paranoia may be showing here. He needs to reign himself back in.]

I'm just making comparisons. And given they put the augments in there in the first place, I reckon they can do whatever they bloody well want with them.

[Adachi will actually take Crowley's advice. He stops walking, takes a few deep breaths.]

Okay, you're saying that these augments we were given... Atroma can just mess with them?

[Adachi had already suspected this. I mean, it WAS their technology, and, just as Crowley said, they had put it in his brain without his consent. He figured at the least the augments could be used for tracking... but if they can be "messed" with... who knows what Atroma could be capable of making them do. And that idea legitimately troubled Adachi.]

But wait, how does your augment getting "buggered" affect other peoples' behavior?

Well, unless you usually have a chip going into your brain.

[Crowley shrugged. ]

[Adachi finally just lets out an exasperated, frustrated sigh as he scratches the back of his head.]

It's like you're incapable of ever giving a straight answer Crowley-san.

Well, yes. It's a demon thing.

[Okay, if the people trying to sleep with him comment had made Adachi trip over himself, that one straight up made him almost fall flat on his face. He stops rigidly, looks at Crowley for a few seconds.]

You're messing with me again aren't you?

No, demons do all sorts of things like that.

But- you're not... are you...

[Adachi doesn't finish his question, but it's pretty obvious what he's asking. His eyes searching Crowley's face for any kind of tell.]

A demon? Yep, the real deal.

[No lies there.]

[Adachi's face conveys an expression of skepticism. He's trying to figure out if Crowley is messing with him again. He's already done it enough for Adachi to have reasonable doubt. I mean, he doesn't even have any horns or a tail or anything like that. However... something about his tone... After pondering over it for a few seconds, Adachi finally speaks up.]

Okay Crowley-san, if you're a demon, prove it. Do something... demon-y.

Not that I'm here to put on a show to you, but fine.

[He snaps his fingers, and hellfire sparks in his hand, reeking of brimstone. It's hotter than any fire should be. ]

[He then leans in a little closer to look at the fire. There was no trick or illusion here. If there was, then Crowley would have to be the greatest magician Adachi has ever seen.]

Wow... you really are a demon. So does this mean like... you collect souls or whatever?

[Adachi gives Crowley the hairy eyeball. As if to say, "should I be concerned?"]

[Crowley closes his hand around the fire and snuffs it out, giving a derisive snort. ]

Don't confuse me with Death. I simply...taint souls. A little bit. Make them more likely to go to Hell than Heaven. But it's all about free will. I offer the temptation, it's their choice if they take it or not. Been that way since Eden.
