Neither did I, to be honest. I wasn't exaggerating when I said things weren't the same at the Keep without you.
[It'll drive him out of the Wardens eventually, given enough time and creeping changes.]

It's not that she's a bad leader, so much as she has no real confidence in her own ability to lead without significant support and guidance from someone else. ]
I'm sorry. I just... I wouldn't have been any good at that sort of thing in the long term, Anders, you know that, right? It would've all been a huge mess, and it was probably better if I stepped down before that happened.
[ Yes, it freed her up to go look for Morrigan, too, but that was a happy side-effect rather than the driving force behind the decision. ]

[He says it like a joke, but it isn't one, not really. He does genuinely believe that. It isn't easy for anyone with authority to win respect from him, but she's done it, and to him that speaks volumes.]

[ He gets a smile, and then she sighs softly. ]
We should go inside. I managed to scrape together enough to rent a small room for the night, so we can talk privately.

[He's reluctant, if just because he's reluctant to hear anything related to what the seems to have all the others on edge. But he won't refuse. He's here, after all.]
Yes, all right. Point the way.

[ She takes him upstairs in a little motel-like place that isn't quite dirty enough to be considered "seedy" and lets them into the room before sitting on the edge of the bed, then getting up again to pace a little. Might as well get right to it, right? ]
...Well now that we're here I feel silly because I haven't actually got many hard facts, but... [ deep breath ] From what I've gathered, the reason everyone seems to be... upset with you because something went wrong with Justice.
I know you were planning on... helping him. Which I don't necessarily disagree with in principle, but you know I was uncomfortable with the idea in practice. I just-- I need to know if you have, already. Helped him.
[ Because "helping him" sounds way less awful than "let him technically possess you" ]

[Actually, though. As soon as it comes out of his mouth, Fenris's voice rings in his ears. Abomination. Not yet, he'd said, but one day.
Justice is a spirit, not a demon. Possession alone doesn't make someone an abomination, it's just that most spirits hardly care enough about mortal people to bother. Abominations are mages who've been twisted by demons, corrupted by them. Spirits don't do that. Justice wouldn't.
But rationalizing it doesn't make him feel any less ill.]
You mean— [It hits him like a well-placed force blast. He stares at her, mouth opening and closing as he tries to find the right words.] No. I haven't— no.
[That's really the only word he can think of.]
