[ Matt's made it down to the planet, and somehow this is not what he expected. Or maybe just not what he hoped for. Doing a quick scan of the area, all he can really tell is that the forest is full of fauna he doesn't recognize, and dense.

He's also still not sure he's ready to go public with his abilities, so he waits for another person before making his way into the forest, speaking to them once he hears them exit their shuttle. ]

Could you use some company?

[ -- peggy steps outside the shuttle in something best approximating tactical gear: leather jacket, thick trousers, and good boots. not that matt's likely to notice. but he does still notice her, she realizes, when the man addresses her. she hadn't expected the question. it causes her steps to slow, and she glances from the tree-line to him and back to the trees once again.

thing is, she's at least perceptive enough to notice the dark glasses. but she can't be certain so: ] What, to head into the woods? [ ... ] I might do. Does company have a name?

[ He turns to face her. ]

Matt. And yeah, I figure the buddy system can't hurt on an alien planet.

[ Plus, hey. If the forest is as dense as he senses, she could probably use his ability to move in the dark. ]

Peggy. [ she introduces herself with a paradoxically polite brusqueness. ] From the Starstruck. Funny you should mention the buddy system, as my security officer was just preaching its benefits.

[ -- and she refused. but with the prospect of learning about a new member of the fleet? ah, she might waive a bit of her independence. ]

Does that mean you're turning me down or accepting my offer? Or well, my company. I'm not sure how much I can offer.

I'm considering it. [ it's an honest answer, at least. ] Why are you so keen to get into the woods?

[ honestly, she ought to answer that same question herself. ]

First time on an alien planet. How could I resist?

[Ahsoka drops to the ground from a tree branch a little ways in front of him.]

I don't mind it. Need a ride?

[It sounds like she's suggesting carrying Matt, but that can't be right. At her height and weight, that should be impossible.]

[ He can't sense her vehicle. Weird. ]

Sure... on what?

I could carry you, no problem. You'd be... what? [She looks him up and down, assessing.] Six foot? A little under? Eighty kilos?

Uh, close, yeah.

Are you sure? Would that be faster?

[ He can tell easily that she isn't human, her physical makeup is too different, and even with his very limited understanding of the non-humans in the fleet, he has a feeling it would be. ]

Well I couldn't powerwalk it, but it'd probably be faster than navigating all the upturned roots and low-hanging branches.

[ Matt is still working through the offer. ]

And do you offer everyone a ride right off the bat?

[ Cara looks him over, her expression haughty and proud. The glasses he wore were strange and she found herself staring at them. ]

No. Why?

[ Matt can tell, but he doesn't indicate it. ]

Trying to lower the chances of getting lost in an alien forest. Or maybe I'm just friendly.

[ Matt expected more of an argument. He smiles and nods. ]

Noted. I'm Matt.

[ She starts walking, but to her credit, her pace is slower than usual. ] Why do you wish to enter the forest.

[ Matt keeps up. It's a hard question to answer, so he doesn't. ]

Seems a little like a waste of a good kidnapping to stay on the ship.

[Loki eyes the human with amusement.] Do you think you will keep up?

[Someone new might be a bit interesting, though.]

[ Matt can hear the doubt in his voice. ]

I can keep up.

Loki heads into the woods, pausing in the trees for a moment as if listening, eyes closed.]

[ Matt walks with him, following by sound and not using his cane. ]

Do you have a name?
