[she is so thankful for the topic change. She leans over to look at the notebook a bit closer, but still keeping a polite distance]

Like - a journal, or as more of a reference?

Both! I've always kept a journal back home, and I figure keeping records will be essential out here, travelling through the void of space. What we learn in one area may prove useful for the next.

Right? And if nothing else, it'll be quite the record to look back on later. I've barely been here a month, and lot of weird stuff has happened.

I'm on Bloodsport. Thankfully the name is not as alarming as the crew.

Hm, aside from this planet, the strangest thing I've experienced so far is--[He flips through his papers. Leeeet's just skip over the page about how his dead best friend is somehow alive and breathing here and all the handwritten screaming.]

--er! Apparently there was dragon fighting going on for a while, but I missed most of it. But people turning into dragons? That's something out of a fantasy book.

A - a dragon? [she repeats it like she can't quite believe it either, and that's saying a lot considering what she is] That's - wow. I didn't know that was possible.

Right? I'm starting to learn a lot here is possible. Granted, I didn't get to see it with my own eyes, but I'm sure there will be other crazy happenings.

Y-Yeah, I heard a couple of weird things when I first got here . . . a-and I thought my world was weird.

Ditto. I guess this is the universe's way of trying to one up us.

It really doesn't have to do that.

I'm sure it simply must insist on doing so. Unfortunately there's not much we can do but wait to see what else happens on our travels.

I know . . . hopefully it's nothing - too bad. I-I haven't heard anything like that yet.

Me neither. Being in space aside. . .it's been. Hm. Nice? Ish? Moderately less stressful than I imagined.

S-Something like that, yeah. I mean, the first day was - something, but after that it's been . . . I don't know. S-Space is really cool, though.

Are you worried about something happening?

Uh, yeah? Haven't you ever seen a show or a movie set in space? Something always happens.

Oh! Haha, well, I've sort of resigned myself to the thought of some horrible alien monster bursting through our chests or us flying directly into a black hole or whatnot. There's no way we'd get stuck on a cruise without a catch, after all.

But as of now, it's not happening, so. . .it's best not to worry that far ahead. Perhaps just a couple weeks in advance.

I-Its hard not to worry when you come from a time where this isn't actually . . . possible. Not yet, anyway. I think.
