It don't feel dark though.

You don't think so?

[It feels a little creepy to him, but that could just be the differences in it from what he's used to. A mental hum carries all kinds of innate connotations given how people have described Corypheus' power or the way the Taint courses through Wardens or the afflicted.]

Maybe not. I'm not sure yet. But no harm in just listening, I'm sure.

[He's not sure, but he doesn't want to disappoint Misty.]

We'll only go in a little ways, I promise.

[wolfehawke]

I'm more than capable of fighting off anything we might run across anyway, nothing to worry about.

[Gosh Misty, it's like you think he's scared for himself.

Wolfe moves over to her and takes an arm.]

Let's go.

[mistyday]

I'm not worried.

[She accepts his arm and as they walk in the forest she starts humming softly, clearly very content with their situation.]

[wolfehawke]

[He lets her lead them, just happy to be out in the sun with someone he enjoys spending time with. He's not sure about this listening to trees business - seems a bit more Dalish to him - but he'll humor her anyway. Anything to keep her smiling and humming like that.]

[They on like this for a few minutes, Misty perfectly happy in his company until she sees it: the perfect tree for climbing! Plenty of sturdy branches and even a thick vine or two winding down the side of the trunk. She breaks away from Hawke and nimbly swings herself up onto the first branch, only a few feet off the ground, then scrambles to the next one higher up, until she's well above Hawke's head.

She turns to look down at him, a cheeky grin on her face.]

Bet you can't get any higher'n me!

[wolfehawke]

Oh you're on!

[He grabs a branch and swings himself up with just his arms, quickly trying to gain height with a wild grin to match her cheeky one.]

[mistyday]

[Misty laughs, happy that he's going along with the game and starts climbing higher, trying to stay ahead of him.]

And no magic! Not this time.

[wolfehawke]

That's no fun!

[There's laughter in his protest, though, and he grabs the next branch, hauling himself up.]

[mistyday]

[Hawke's stronger and quickly catching up to her, but Misty's counting on her smaller size allowing her to go higher.]

I don't wanna find out you know how to fly or something!

[wolfehawke]

I can't fly.

[He grunts, pulling himself up another branch.]

There's shapeshifters that can. I would love to learn that. Then I could be a dragon or something.

[mistyday]

[Misty stops and looks down at him, suddenly serious.]

Might wanna be careful about who you say that too. The dragon part I mean.

[wolfehawke]

Why, do you think Daenerys would try to adopt me?

[He keeps heading up, choosing his branches a bit haphazardly. They creak just a bit under his weight.]

[mistyday]

[She can't help but giggle a little at that.]

Well that wouldn't be so bad.

[But then she gets serious again.]

It's just... there was that dragon attack last month.

[wolfehawke]

I know, I was in prison and missed it. I'm devastated.

[He pouts at her over it. He wanted to fight the dragon!]

[mistyday]

[She frowns at him, not falling for the pout at all.]

Someone died tryin' to protect us.

[wolfehawke]

[He stops climbing at that, looking up at Misty with a much more serious expression.]

Who died? I didn't hear about anyone dying.

[mistyday]

Don't know if it's my place to tell you who, but.... I was the one who brought her back.

[wolfehawke]

[If he'd still been climbing he might have slipped at that.]

Brought her back? How? Necromancy?

[mistyday]

Not like zombies. Like...

[Lazarus. But that won't mean anything to him.]

She's back fully, mind, body, and soul and I ain't got no control over her. All I did was give her her life back.

[wolfehawke]

So... Creation magic.

[He swings up on a branch to sit instead of climb, back against the trunk with his head tilted so he can look at her.]

You know, Anders is a very accomplished healer. I've seen him cure things that would surely kill anyone, diseases and poisons. I've even seen him snatch people from the jaws of death, me included. I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you without him. But even he can't bring people back from the dead. No one can do that, not the Mortalitasi or anyone else that I'm aware of.

[He threads his fingers through his hair, smiling a bit.]

That's an impressive skill, to bring a soul back to its body in truth and not just animate it.

[Impressive and a little frightening. Just how powerful is Misty?]

[More powerful than she even realizes, as she's barely been trained.]

It's a rare ability in my world too. It's why Myrtle thought I was going to be the next Supreme - that's the leader of our coven. But that clearly ain't the case.

It's a rare ability overall. I've only heard of one case outside of what Atroma can do with us here, and I think that's maybe more technology than magic? I'm not sure, but at the very least that's a group or a system, not one person...

[He rubs the back of his neck.]

Still, I feel a lot better knowing you have that power than knowing they do.
