They are doing very well, the spoiled little things. [she says, as if she's talking about a couple of children, rather than flora] They have taken over my room.

You say that as though that wasn't your intention.

[He drops another handful of nuts into his bag, casting her an unconvinced look.]

I never said that was my intention, but it was certainly not a complaint.

And how is the garden you and Charles are starting?

[He settles back on his heels, glancing at her.]

It's really not a full garden - just a few plants.

Then how are the plants you and Charles are tending to?

They're... good, I think.

[They check on them daily; sometimes together, sometimes separately. It's only been a few days, and none of them have died. That has to be a positive.]
