[Another year for the Drift Fleet, another birthday for Beverly. She’s given up on trying to determine exactly how old she is - fifty seems a good enough compromise - but that does not mean she’s not going to celebrate. She’s had people she loves unexpectedly returned to her and that alone is worth celebrating.

So, after a bit of flying around the forested planet, she finds the perfect location for a little birthday brunch picnic, right on the edge of a grassy mesa, with one of the enormous fungus-trees providing some cool shade. A large blanket is set out with the finest smorgasbord the Blue Fish can offer: smoked t-rex meat, fresh fruit from the garden, pastries, and of course, syntheholic mimosas. People are of course free bring their own food as well. There are also a couple of decks of cards and poker chips, should anyone fancy a game. All in all, a it’s a very relaxed, casual atmosphere, simply a nice meal with close friends.]

"Happy birthday." Maglor greets her with a shy, pleased smile and a small present - he bartered song for a forge, and has made her a little gold butterfly brooch

"Oh!" Beverly gasps at the brooch as he hands it to her. "It's beautiful! Thank you!" Beaming, she immediately pins it to her sweater, where it sits nicely against the blue knit.

He smiles, pleased that she likes it.

"It is only a small rough thing." He says shyly. "My hands are no longer what they used to be. I am glad it suits."

[Stefan drops by right on time, and for once, the platter of food in his hands has no ma'amoul whatsoever. He's brought falafel (or the space equivalent of falafel), along with some homemade bread like Eugene taught him how to bake.

He kneels down on the grass, setting the food right beside the smorgasbord, and manages a smile at the people nearby. While he's not as social as he used to be, birthdays are important, and well - his aunt's birthday is one of the most important ones.

Don't mind him sneaking some t-rex meat when he thinks no one's looking, of course.]

[As soon as she can break politely away from her current conversation, Beverly makes her way over to Stefan and sits down cross-legged next to him.]

I'm glad you could make it.

Of course. I wouldn't have missed this for the world. [He laughs, setting his food aside before he reaches over for a quick hug.] Happy birthday, Aunt Beverly.

[He's been quiet for the past few weeks, but luckily the Vision has awakened from his Atroma-induced unconsciousness in time to attend her party. He's brought her a potted plant (this one a particularly nice orchid-like flower from the hand-holding planet) as a gift, and he's dressed up nicely for the event.]

[Her eyes light up when he arrives, relief rushing through her that he woke up safe and sound. Careful not to squish his gift, she ducks in to give him a quick kiss on the cheek in greeting.]

It's good to see you up! How are you feeling?

[As if he just had a slight cold - it's disturbing, really, how common these comas have become.]

[Honestly, it's had less effect on him than a common cold would. (He'd had one of those on Arslae, and he hadn't enjoyed it in the slightest.)]

I'm perfectly fine, as it happens; in some ways I'm even refreshed by it. I was glad not to have missed this, however; happy birthday.

<sub>[ When he'd heard it was going to be Beverley's birthday, what else could he do but come? The matter of a gift was a bit more difficult, but eventually he settled on one he thought she would like. It took a bit more effort, but it was worth it for Beverly.

When he appears at the party, he has a bottle of wine in one hand, and a large bushel of yellow, white, and pink flowers in the other. They seem to resemble a mix of lily and carnations, though not quite, just like everything else on this planet. He set the wine out with the other drinks before making his way to the birthday girl and holding out the bouquet. ]</sub>

[Aww, Kirk. He reminds her a little of Wesley right about now. She takes the bouquet with a soft smile.]

[Sokka has been making short work of the food available. He has shown a little more restraint than usual, not scarfing every single scrap of meat available. Because there's company (and also because he lives here and he'll just eat the leftovers once everyone else has left).

Eventually, he does stop eating to vanish off into his quarters, returning shortly with a...pretty crappily wrapped present. It's kind of hard to tell what's inside, given the gift is a badly-wrapped shapeless blob. There probably is something in there, though. Probably.

He heads over to Beverly with a smile, offering the...thing to her.]

[Oh that sure is... A thing all right. She takes the present gingerly, worried she might hurt it in some way. Still, she gives him a big smile. She's got a mother's bias - whatever it is, she will love it because it is from Sokka.]

[Of course Allen would attend the brunch. There was food to be had, and more importantly- it was celebrating someone he cared about a great deal. A member of the crew, someone he's worked beside for over a year and a half.

So after scarfing down his own plate of food (it's so good.), he'll be approaching Beverly. He's got his own wrapped present...only slightly nicer wrapping than Sokka's]

[Listen, the wrapping is not the important thing. The important thing is that Allen is up and about and healthy and able to be here.]

[Wanda shows up to Beverly's party alongside Vision. She's mostly been attached to his arm ever since he'd woken up, except for when she's been checking on Pietro who still lay on the Starstruck asleep and unresponsive. Still, she would not have missed Beverly's birthday party. It was just fortunate that they both happened to be invited. She steps back to allow Vision to give his gift and converse a little with Beverly, fetching herself a mimosa. When she returns, she stays politely quiet until it is her turn.]

Happy Birthday, Beverly.

[She presents her with a closed, jewelry box. Inside is a necklace that is crafted in a very familiar looking symbol.]

I saw this for sale in Savvy market, back in the last system. I thought it looked very similar to the symbol that I've seen on your clothes.

[Beverly takes the proffered box with a smile.]

[So many presents! She wasn't really expecting this. When she opens the box, she blinks in some surprise.]

It is amazingly similar, yes.

[Suspiciously so, almost, but she lets that slide for now. Either way, it is a beautiful necklace. She immediately puts it around her neck, then rests her hand on the charm for a moment.]

Nice to have a reminder of home.

[Jennifer had agonized for a while over what to get Beverly for her birthday. She wasn't a great cook, so some sort of food was out of the question, for example. Finally, she decided to stop overthinking it and showed up at the party... empty-handed.]
