I'm engaged in creating a forge on the First Breath - putting all of this knowledge I've received to good use.

If it goes over well, you might be in business to teach some others so we can equip more of the ships.

It took me years to learn blacksmithing. [ He doesn't know if he'd be able to teach anyone. ] My teacher was much firmer than I can be. I'm probably too kind.

Years, really?

[ it can't be that complicated, can it ...? But then again, she knows almost nothing about that type of work ... ]

Well, maybe that would be too tough, then ... I think you'd make a good teacher though, for what it's worth.

Learning a little is easy. Mastering is difficult. I'm the best smith on the close isles, and I still haven't mastered, I think - not like Jend did.

Swords were the most complicated.

Well, it takes a long time to truly master anything, wouldn't you say?

I'm doing alright. Mostly I've been trying to save up some emergency money by working this month. You never know when it might come in handy, right?

I haven't been so prudent with mine.

[ He's been trading up materials, buying time at other people's forges, getting his hands on better food than protein cubes. Spending almost as fast as he earns. ]
