[And the night has arrived! Dorian put out an open invitation, and anyone who is interested is welcome to dress up and meet up for a night of dancing and fawning over each other. Make sure to wear your best, everyone! It's a very special episode of Drift Fleet!]

[he nods for about half a second. then comes the slight squint as he combs over those words again.

but yeah, no, it still makes enough sense coming from her. and it's funny. so, instead of dwelling on the specifics, he grins a little bit.]

Oh, that reminds me... you should see my dress.

[he really shouldn't be so deeply pleased with himself, but he totally is.]

[he gives her half of a shrug]

[she shakes her head. just... shakes her head.]

[he props his hand on his hip in a very Kett-like fashion.]

It's unlike you to turn down an excuse to see something fascinating and magical. Why is that?

I'm beginning to feel insulted.

[don't make this weird, Tek! she just wants to escape unscathed.]

I just--can imagine! I can take your word for it.

[he folds his arms. and that's probably a bad sign.]

I haven't gotten to show it to anyone yet, you know.

I thought you at least would like to see it.

[..she sighs. dropping her shoulders.]

Okay. ...I'm sorry, I would secretly like to see your other ridiculously good-looking outfit.

[the happy, snaky little grin he gets makes the similarities between his two faces unsettlingly clear.

and he steps back so he can swish his way into a shift.]

[which means she's already halfway into a turn, fanning her beautiful skirts, by the time her form shimmers in and out of sight.

and, yes, it's every bit as bad as she'd feared. Kett is gorgeous--decked out in the same color scheme and level of finery, with all of the extra details you can get away with hair and full face of makeup.]

[and she totally revels in being able to impress some poor teenager. she tucks a curl away from her face, manages to somehow pull off a halfway-believable look of bashfulness.]

[she swishes her skirts back and forth a little, admiring herself.]

'Jealous?' Oh, this look wouldn't suit you anyway. What you have is perfectly acceptable.

[is that the best she's going to get? ...oh, well. she's still blushing, gathering up her own skirts a little only to drop them again.]
