[And the night has arrived! Dorian put out an open invitation, and anyone who is interested is welcome to dress up and meet up for a night of dancing and fawning over each other. Make sure to wear your best, everyone! It's a very special episode of Drift Fleet!]

((OOC: There was an open invitiation, but even if your character never replied or has had personal contact with Dorian, feel free to assume he's let them come along or be dragged along by someone else! [ She shrugs a shoulder. ]

Everything is wrong. It can't be helped.

Specifically, I just found another hole in my memory. That's all.

[ She says it like it happens very often-- because it does. ]

Not exactly a party. Do you want to stop dancing?

I don't just choose to dance with anyone.

[ Well, not normally, but she stops dancing, pulling away a little bit and smoothing down the skirts of her dress. ]

I don't think I'm a particularly impressive partner anyway.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that.

[He steps back, watching her cautiously, curiously, waiting for another reaction, or a cue as to what he should do now.]

[ She's probably not much help.

All she does is look away, stepping back from the crowd of dancers on the floor. She sighs. ]

All of this reminds me of... of home...

That... that's not easy.

[He's been avoiding thinking about it himself, dances he went to with Dick grinning at him, needling him, pushing heiresses at him.]

No, not exactly. But then nothing is now, is it...

[ She shrugs a shoulder, uncomfortably this time, then decides to change the subject. ]

Anyway, you're awfully cheerful. I don't think I've ever seen you in such high spirits before.

It's... as much as I hate them being kidnapped, it's good to see familiar faces here. And it's good to have a chance to unwind.

Oh? Have you met up with your sister here then?

That's right.

And? How's it going?

So far? Well. Really well. If we can get the right augments to the ship, she'll transfer over next month. She and Steph both...

[ Oh, uhhh... well... Cecil opens her mouth to say something, but she surprisingly very quickly shuts her mouth, jaw clenching tightly, then after a few moments, she blurts out something else entirely off topic: ]

[He can barely even process the sentiment, staring crookedly at her, a little poleaxed by that announcement.]

You should be careful while you're around others of the crew for a little while. I might not be the only one who thinks so right now.

[ She may or may not purposely being obtuse. ]

Right. Pheromone malfunctions... you think my augment is acting up?

[ A nod. ]

There's really no other explanation.

I think maybe I ought to be offended by that. But I'm not.

[ Ah, yes, that was a bit... harsh. ]

I've been with younger men before, but this is not Court and you are not exactly the sort of younger man I've been attracted to before.

[ That, on the other hand, is kind of a much worse thing to say. ]

Er-- my implant is also glitching. Highly impulsive behavior.
