[Adachi gives a slightly exasperated sigh. Crowley-san sure was an odd one. Normally, Adachi felt pretty confident in his ability to read people, but this guy was very hard to get a beat on.]

[Adachi clears his throat before continuing.] So, uh, what do you think of the party so far?

[Crowley did it on purpose, of course. Part of knowing what everyone deeply and desperately wanted in their heart of hearts made him exceptionally good at people. More to the point, knowing how to read and mislead them. ]

It could use some more alcohol.

About that, I was told we weren't supposed to bring any. Something about it being illegal here?

Just because it's illegal doesn't mean you shouldn't try it.

[Adachi looks down at his drink.]

So then this punch really is...

[He looks back up at Crowley to confirm his suspicions.]

Huh, I thought for sure you'd be the culprit on this one.

[Adachi chuckles a little mischievously.]

Guess you were right. My detective skills apparently just aren't up to stuff.

Usually, it is. He beat me to it.

[That gets a sky smirk. His tone suggests he's humouring Adachi. ]

I'm sure all you need to do is work on it.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi chuckles politely before using this as an opportunity to change the subject.]

So... you go to many parties like this back in Paradisa?

Whenever they threw them, sure. Some of them didn't even end in terror or embarrassment.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi makes a mental note to ask about the "terror" and "embarrassment" later.]

Did... I... go to many parties?

[Crowley shrugs. ]

I think I remember seeing you at a few.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi's face flashes with frustration as he mulls this information over. It really was bugging him that he couldn't remember any of the time he supposedly spent in Paradisa. He still had a touch of doubt about whether or not Crowley was just playing some elaborate hoax. Maybe... if there were others...]

Crowley-san, are there any other fleet members that would remember me from Paradisa?

Maybe? The other people from Paradisa who are here are Allen, Ino, Tsuna and Felix.

[He frowns, thinking.] I think that's all of them. You'd have to ask them if they remember you or not. I didn't keep tabs on their social calendars.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi made a mental list of those four names. Maybe they could help provide some answers to his lingering questions about Paradisa.]

Thanks. I'll ask them about it if I end up running into any of them.

[Adachi paused briefly to think more about these individuals.]

Although, if they did know me from Pardisa, I wonder why they didn't greet me the way you did when I first arrived here.

[Crowley shrugs. ]

Maybe they hadn't met you. Or maybe they didn't like you. You might be the victim of an Ino freeze-out, or something. I don't know.

[cabbagedetective]

An "Ino freeze-out?"

[He gives a wry smile.]

It's something that can only be experienced, never described.

[Something about Crowley's smile made Adachi uneasy.]

Well, uh- guess I'll watch out for that. [Adachi chuckles uneasily.] So... there's only about five of you then that came directly here from Paradisa?

From what I can see, yep. Veterans, if you will.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi wonders if there could be more. Likely not, Crowley would likely know if there were. Plus, he already gave Adachi some names, so he probably wasn't hiding anyone either.]

How does it compare? Here and Paradisa?

[Crowley gives him a sidelong glance. ]

Has anyone ever told you that you ask a lot of questions for one person?

[cabbagedetective]

[Dojima's face flashed in his mind briefly.] Ah sorry, am I being annoying? [Adachi chuckles apologetically.] It just comes with the job. I guess I still need to learn when to close my big mouth.

[Damn. He knew he had been badgering Crowley with questions, but he had foolishly hoped Crowley hadn't been paying attention. Or at least hadn't cared... Still, he realized he should tone it down. If he was going to get more information about Paradisa, it was likely going to come from one of the other "veterans."]
