[And the night has arrived! Dorian put out an open invitation, and anyone who is interested is welcome to dress up and meet up for a night of dancing and fawning over each other. Make sure to wear your best, everyone! It's a very special episode of Drift Fleet!]

((OOC: There was an open invitiation, but even if your character never replied or has had personal contact with Dorian, feel free to assume he's let them come along or be dragged along by someone else! With Dorian, it could be anything, really. I'd toast to fresh food and good shampoo, though.

[Dorian, that guy was certainly unique. Well, as much as Adachi detested forced social interaction, he had to admit that he was kind of enjoying himself. Maybe. Just a little.]

Well then, [Adachi raises his drink.] to fresh food and uh, good shampoo?

[ino]

[ A laugh ]

To fresh food and good shampoo.

[ She'll touch her glass to his, and take a swig ... and then coughs. That ... is WAY spiked. ]

So that was what Varric was on about -- !

[cabbagedetective]

Ah, yeah. The punch is rather... strong, huh?

[Adachi has to laugh at her reaction to the drink.]

I actually thought it had been Crowley-san at first. But he mentioned a "shifty looking dwarf" or something like that.

[ino]

I mean, it's not bad -- [ she takes another sip, now that she's adjusted to the idea of there being a burn to it ] -- just wasn't expecting it.

Crowley's probably just mad Varric got to it first. He was always spiking the punch at the balls in Paradisa.

[cabbagedetective]

[More laughter from Adachi.]

He does seem like that kind of guy. I guess I can see why he and I might have gotten along in Paradisa.

[Too bad Adachi totally ditched out on him earlier...]

He said you guys were friends?

[ She seems surprised. After all, Crowley was always very loathe to say something nice about a person, even if he did care about them. ]

No, he just said we were acquaintances, which sounds about as close to the word "friends" as that guy is ever going to get.

[Adachi inwardly kinda winces at the word friend. He was like Crowley in that he would never admit to ever being "friends" with anyone. Not that this girl needs to know that.]

[ino]

Oh, no. If you're an "acquaintance" then he probably didn't like you at all. Nothing personal, though, he doesn't like people for a lot of weird reasons. Like, you could be wearing the wrong shoes for your outfit or whatever.

[ Examines her nails casually as she says this. If Crowley's gonna say weird shit about her, she'll do the same for him 8) ]

[Any possible amount of guilt Adachi could have felt about tossing Crowley's drink in the can after he ditched him suddenly evaporated entirely.]

Oh... [Adachi looks down at his shoes, seemingly a little disappointed.] He seemed friendly enough when we went drinking earlier. I mean, he said some stuff about being a demon, and avoiding people who were trying to sleep with him... [Adachi can play this game too.]

[ino]

[ A sudden look of understanding. ]

Ohhhh. Maybe you were one of his one night stands?

[Adachi turns his head and spits his drink that he was sipping. He coughs and sputters as he tries to regain his breath.]

[After he catches his breath, Adachi manages to croak out his response.]

I was one of his what?!

[ino]

[ Tries not to laugh at his reaction. Oops. ]

Y'know, like, a booty call or something? He did sleep with a pretty good chunk of the castle people.

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi's completely off his game now. He's flustered, confused, disgusted, angry, scared... all at the same time. He struggles to find words, and his articulation just flounders.]

[ Just a giggle from her. ]

Sometimes the castle makes you do crazy things~

[Was this girl messing with him? She had to be messing with him. Adachi would never... he can't even finish the thought without a visible chill running down his spine. No. She was messing with him; she has to be.]

Ah heh, good one. [Cue the most sincere awkward chuckle of Adachi's life.] You... really had me going there...

(Please to god let her be joking...)

I wasn't joking. He probably doesn't want you coming back for seconds.

[Adachi finally spits out the words he's been thinking.]

[That came out a little louder than he intended it to...]

[Adachi clears his throat before attempting to regain his composure.]

Ahem... That is... I'm not into guys. I like women.

[Nice save... Man, this was awkward. But it's this bitch's fault! She put him on the spot!]

Whoa, you don't need to go proving anything to me. [ Calm down, Kanji. ]

What I'm saying is that the castle had a way of making you do stuff even if you'd never do it normally. Love spells and stuff like that, you know?

[cabbagedetective]

[Adachi shudders at the thought. It clearly bothers him visibly that he could have possibly slept with another guy. It doesn't help that he can't remember anything from Paradisa. Screw it. If he can't remember it and there's no physical proof, then it didn't happen. Plain and simple. Still, the thought doesn't full ease his mind. Perhaps that why he said what he said next.]

Love spells, huh? Sounds like you've had some experience with the castle's "magic" yourself. [He'll attempt to make it seem like an off-hand comment between two "victims."] That's pretty twisted that a castle can just make people do things like that. Magic or not.

[ She shrugs ]

After awhile it just becomes more of a nuisance than anything. That type of weird matchmaking stuff was so common that sometimes people didn't believe you were dating someone until a few weeks in, cause by then the magic would have worn off.

[cabbagedetective]

[Looks like the snide dig eluded her. Good. He was still trying to flirt with this girl after all. Wouldn't exactly work out well if he pissed her off.]

Maybe it's kind of a blessing that I don't remember anything from that place... [Adachi says this in a slightly sarcastic tone. In did naturally frustrate him, but, at the same time, maybe some things are better left forgotten...]

[ A sympathetic smile ] Believe me, there's a lot that people there wish they could forget.

[ She prefers not to have her memories tampered with, but. There was definitely enough traumatic events and death to last several lifetimes. ]
