[After several days of traveling, the passengers are able to reach the ruins of the ship. Explore the ruins, try to find a distress single scavenge, play your hand at Harvest moon and grab some pumpkins- come on in, it's a mingle!

I will. [he pushes a lock of his hair behind his ear] If we're really lucky, it's nothing more than a coincidence. So I don't want to cause a panic yet.

[He gives a nod. ]

Yeah. Hopefully it's just them being...them and messing with us. Anniversary and whatever. It's probably just...weird parlour tricks or something.

I don't know. Did you hear the last broadcast from them? They sounded awfully insistent on us going to that game deck. And the Marsiva hasn't even come into this system itself.

That's not like them.

[He frowns, looking off deeper into the planet. ]

So whatever's out there, they might not want us to find it?

It's possible, yeah. All more the reason to look into it.

[That said, he kneels down to examine some of the pumpkins ]

Huh. I think these might be actual pumpkins.

Oh, absolutely. If anything, it'll annoy them, and I always approve of that.

[Sokka regards them with the same cool indifference he does with all vegetables. ]

Just...regular boring pumpkins?

Pumpkins aren't boring.

[Okay most produce are, but-

He picks up one of the pumpkins near him, examining it with a slight grin on his face]

You'll like this. On Earth there's this holiday around this time called Halloween. And one of the things you do is take a pumpkin, hollow out their insides and carve faces on them! Then you put a candle inside the pumpkin, and it makes a jack-o-lantern!

[He looks over at Sokka with a grin]

It looks really cool! Nice and spooky!

[He stares at the pumpkin, then at Allen, then back to the vegetable. ]

...Can't you just use a lantern? It'd give out more light and it wouldn't smell.

[He rolls his eyes]

That's not the point. It's not supposed to give off lots of light, it's supposed to look like glowing faces. It's a tradition!

But why would you want glowing faces? That's kinda skeevy.

[Ugh. These traditions are dumb.]

Because it is skeevy! Halloween is about embracing scary things! You tell ghost stories, go out at night, dress up in costumes, make jack-o-lanterns and other creepy decorations, and eat lots of candy!

[a beat]

Though that last one isn't supposed to be scary, it just tastes good.

[Oh, food! ]

...Okay, I think I get it a bit more. That sounds...weird.

A good kind of weird, I guess?

Yeah, it's a good kind of weird! It's a little hard to just explain it.

But we should grab some pumpkins to carve! You can work on your art skills!

Oh, Allen, Allen, Allen.

[He shakes his head with a smug smile. ]

My art skills are so great already.

[Yeah. Sure.]

Buuut if you want to get a few, I guess it can be the Fun Crew Thing we do this week.

[He snorts] Uh huh.

[Whatever you believe Sokka. But he grins, honestly happy about that. He loved Halloween, and honestly it's good to have something to remind you of home.]
