Is that it? I'm a little amazed it's still running.

[She frowns at the screen. It’s very like their computers in the fleet, but without the proper augment, many of the functions are not clear to her and she’d rather not touch it. Better to be safe than sorry.]
Can Tim still record, or is the planet interfering with his systems as well?

[He looks at it, confused, because it doesn't LOOK very black or boxy to him!!]
Oh, yeah, he can record. Should he record the message?

And ah... it's a reference to old recording devices they used to have in ships and airplanes that looked like black boxes. They kept a record in case there was a wreck. We still keep something like that on starships.

[You know, in case horrible horrible things go wrong like they almost ALWAYS DO. But he'll wave over Timcanpy, who comes fluttering over]
Hey Tim, could you record this message for us?
[Time seems to give a nod and flies over to the console, landing on it and peering down as he listens to the message]

[And then, for a minute or two she simply... listens, hoping to pick up another word. But while she's starting to sense the rhythm in the speech and could probably identify a lot of the individual sounds, there's no telling what they mean. She glances over at Allen, to gauge his expression. Maybe he's understanding more? After all, he does know more languages than she does.]
