[001 🐚 Action]

Who: Jeyne and YOU
Broadcast: N/A
Action: SS Golden; SS Blue Fish
When: Oct 23

It hadn't been a great surprise when Jeyne had appeared suddenly on the Golden. For all of her intentions of begging to be at her husband's side, she inwardly knew that she would be placed elsewhere. For the few days she had spent on the Marsiva, as well as the brief conversations she had on her strange device, she had slowly become aware of how these Atroma intended to play. Nothing was about her comfort, it was about this show that they had brought her here for.

For her sanity, and for Robb's sake, she would need to make the best of this situation and allow herself to be moved around as a pawn once more.

She had at least been given a room of her own. For the first few days, she had wandered the ship, acquainting herself with her surroundings, but only when she wasn't with her husband. Traveling between the Golden and the Blue Fish was becoming a routine for her. While she wanted to remain with Robb, she had duties to attend to and couldn't neglect her own crew.

So mornings and evenings, she would travel between the ships, slowly become familiar with the faces she passed (even if she didn't know all of their names.)

Stepping through the sealed doors, Jeyne rested for a moment, catching her breath and regaining her composure. No matter how often she passed people or walked the distance between her ship and the Blue Fish, she still managed to become disoriented and drained.

Hearing another's approach, she forced herself back into composure, bringing a smile once more to her features. "Good day," she said, turning to greet the person that had interrupted her solitude. "Am I in your way?"

"Wow..." Kaylee blinked. "Sorry, I'm having a hard time picturing that, to tell you the truth. I can't imagine NOT being in the sky. Been around ships all my life."

She nodded.

"Another ship like the Marsiva, I think, crashed into the planet's surface. It's long fallen apart from what I've heard, though."

"... dragons." Kaylee repeated that last word, a note of disbelief in her voice, before remembering how she'd seen Adawolfe's magic. "... You had real dragons? For real?"

Kaylee nodded.

"Don't see any reason why not. If Atroma made one ship that size, stands to reason there are others out there."

"Wow..." Kaylee sounded impressed. "And here I thought I'd heard of everything. 'course, seeing a real one would be terrible scary if they were that big."

She then considered the question.

"It's possible- and they crashed themselves on purpose to get out of it or something. I'd like to think people've found a way out in the past."

"I do," Kaylee said quietly. "I not only miss my ship, I miss my crew. My boyfriend and I'd just gotten together, so I'd love more'n anything to see him again."

"His name's Simon," Kaylee blushed. "He's a doctor- a real, real smart one. He can be a little snooty at times, 'cause he grew up real well off, but there's just something about him..." She gave a dreamy sigh. "Bein' really handsome helps, but the way he's so devoted to helping people, there's something I just love about that."

"Oh!" Kaylee was a bit surprised, but she had to remind herself that everyone's world was different. "Snooty means... you think you're better than everyone else, basically. Arrogant, treating others like they're beneath you. Simon ain't too bad, though. I think he tends to speak afore he thinks and don't really consider how he comes off, and sometimes he has trouble talking about his feelings. We have our disagreements, but on the whole he's very good to me."

Kaylee giggled.

"Nah- he was just born wealthy," Kaylee explained. "I've always been a working class girl, but he was rich and of a higher... social class, I guess you'd say. Plus he's real smart- I mean really smart, so he had a good education. I do miss him, though. He can be very kind and knows how to give a girl a compliment."

"That sounds exciting, though," Kaylee said with a dreamy smile. "He gets to be a lord, and you get to be his bride... it's gotta be an interesting life."

She blushed.

"I was taken with him from the first time we met," she admitted. "But it took him a while to reciprocate. Not 'cause he didn't want to, but he's caretaker for his little sister. River..." Kaylee paused, groping for the right words. "River's sick in the head. She's real smart and a beautiful dancer, but... she sometimes sees and hears things that ain't there, and it makes it hard for her to function."

"A king?" Kaylee repeated, sounding impressed. "His men must've respected him a lot... but at the same time, I can see how it'd be scary, too. I could never be a captain or a queen or anything. Too much responsibility."

Kaylee then smiled shyly.

"Simon loves River more'n anything in the world. And I think he thought it would be unfair if he had to set me aside for her sake, if we were to ever get serious. But I grew to love River, too. She can't help bein' the way she is, all we could do is try and accept her, good and bad parts. It weren't easy, but we managed."

Kaylee sensed that Jeyne was trying to change the subject, so she decided to roll with it. Better to leave the heavier stuff for when she felt ready to elaborate, Kaylee felt.

"River's real smart, like I said," Kaylee replied, warming to the subject. "And dances beautifully, like a ballerina. She latched onto me soon's she and Simon arrived on board, and I tried to be kind to her always, even if she wasn't entirely... there sometimes, I guess you'd say. Simon was tryin' to treat her illess, but it was hard, and sometimes she'd just be wandering or hiding for hours. But we could play together, too... silly games, chasing each other everywhere. Captain'd always yell at us for it."
