You are cordially invited to Cisco and Winn's Not-Too-Terrifying Halloween Costume Party!

[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

[ the night goes smoothly and then, there's a flash of blue-red and white, a very familiar combination that makes steve turn back and look after her. it takes him a moment to realize who she is and then he's chuckling, shaking his head.

well what do you know.

it's a piece of nostalgia, if nothing else and it's a little flattering, once he figures out who's under the uniform. ]

let me guess, Winn.

[ he'll get her a bottle of beer and lean on the bar next to her ]

You know, if you phase, people might start thinking I can do that too.

[He's lucky she didn't phase right then and there out of startled embarrassment at him seeing who she dressed up as for the hero theme Winn's group had going. She'll just blush instead.]

Nope, it's me, Kitty. [Teasing. She knows what he means.] Yeah, he made it.

[Steve Rogers just bought her a beer.

No. Just let that bracket settle in for a minute.

We should definitely start that rumor, don't you think? Maybe Vision would be jealous. [He would not. If anyone is jealous about other people walking through things it's Kitty. STOP STEALING HER POWERS! Especially when you already have several other powers!]

It's - very much like the original.

[ honestly, it's not an outfit he thought he'll see again. He retired it after he left his USO tour days but it's - both amusing and sweet of her to want that one, of all things. For all that his performing days were not his favorite of times, he does know what Cap meant to people. ]

[ an odd thing to say, maybe. steve is as awkward as her about this. ]

[For an odd thing she thinks she gets it. She's also really grateful he seems to approve because it wasn't to mess with him and she wouldn't have been very good at playing that angle up. With others? Sure. Absolutely. If Beast had a better costume, she'd be teasing Hank all party long. But Steve is different. She reaches over and puts her hand over his, giving it a little squeeze.]

I'm glad we got it right.

[ there is a tender moment, here. steve was more than a bit irked to find out how Cap was used in the post-war days. this is different; he may not know exactly who the others are dressed with but he's assuming they're all superheroes and it's a theme. as the only representative of the Avengers in this costume, he can appreciate the sentiment behind it ]

and hey, with the way Tony advertised that video here, I guess some people will recognize the costume.

[She doesn't leave her hand to linger long, but she does smile at him.] That's a good point. Definitely helped getting the details right. I did have to explain it to Nightingale, but she's not even from a version of Earth. She also thought half or more of Earth's population was from America. These places definitely play favorites.

I'd say.

[ he only knows one person who he knows is not from earth and he knew Loki well before the fleet and Asgard has always felt a little familiar after all of Thor's stories. ]

Gotta say, I don't think I recognize half of these costumes.

[ he smiles a bit; it's not really unease, he's used to not knowing certain things even in his Earth. ]</small.

I can help with that. Winn's wearing Flash's costume. I met a version of him in the prison, but I guess he's from Cisco's world. He's fast like Pietro. Cisco is wearing Green Arrow's costume. Also from his world. Archery guy like the Hawkeyes. And Hank is wearing a Superman costume. He's a super-powered alien. [And she doesn't know how out Kara is at this point so she'll reign in further descriptions.]

Like Thor.

[ he smiles, finishes the line of comparisons. ]

I mean, he's not from our planet but most of the people refer to him as a God more than an alien. Still.

[ it's a good enough comparison, both thor and this superman seem to like capes. ]

Like Thor. [Pause.] I think. I don't really know him except, you know, from mythology. [And things Avengers have mentioned and a very brief stay in the prison with her where she doesn't really remember talking to him. Kind of like his stay on the fleet.]

Alien makes more sense to me than god though. Not that I haven't met people claiming either title.

I think he prefers to call himself a god.

[ said with a smile. Thor is one of Steve's favorite teammates if only because he understands even less about modernity. His company is usually less confusing exactly because of that. ]

But - alien would explain it, yeah.

Well, who wouldn't? It's a good reference if you can get it. [Guessing neither she nor Steve would be into that, but it's really just meant as a joke for the moment.]

I think mine is more than enough, some days even is a bit much.

[ He likes Cap, most days, they're one and the same but some days, when there is less need for Cap, it's only Steve and a world far too great, too vast, too different for his liking. ]

Think it's a bit too much pressure.

That's only if you want to be a benevolent god. [As if she can imagine Steve any other way, but the teasing comes so easily.] Way less pressure in vengeful godding.
