[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

This whole concept is foreign to me, I must admit.

I've never seen anything like it, either. But it sounds like it's supposed to be fun, I think.

I suppose that is true. Would you like a companion?

[hearsthesea]

Yes, I think so. Especially if it's both our first times trying it out.

[Still hoping for something not too scary.]

[ he smiles then, bowing and offering his arm to her ]

Then, milady, I would be honored.

Thank you. Let's get going, then.

[Shirley takes his arm with a smile, and starts heading forward. She's a little relieved, frankly, and it might show a little.]

[ He smiles and opens the door for her, stepping inside ]

I wonder what we will find inside?

[hearsthesea]

Hm...

[Shirley steps inside and looks behind her to check that Maglor is following, then steps forward and--

Just to the left of the entrance, an animatronic witch cackles. If Shirley jumps for a second - well, that's only natural, right?]

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor, on the other hand, winces, the sound clearly grating on his ears ]

Easy, milady. I hope that is not the only sort of surprise waiting!

[hearsthesea]

I'm all right.

[Shirley tries for a second to pretend that didn't happen, then gives up because what's the use. Her shoulders are a little more square when she pushes forward, though.]

[bythewaves]

[ He smiles and pats her hand ]

It is well that there are two of us, eh?

[hearsthesea]

Um...yeah.

[She's embarrassed and it shows. She smiles in thanks though - it'd rude to brush him off just because of that.]

Let's keep going. If it's just things like that, we know what to expect now.

[bythewaves]

True enough.

[ His answering smile is wry, but as they round a corner and something lunges at them it vanishes, battle instincts bringing a sword swinging round and... through the hologram? ]

A-ah... forgive me, I could not help...

[hearsthesea]

[Shirley's got her hands up to prepare an eres as they're charged, but she can barely get started before the hologram disappears. She gasps.]

That was...an illusion?

[It makes sense, probably. Better than real spirits haunting things, right?]

[bythewaves]

[ In the gloom of the haunted house, the fell light in Maglor's eyes is clearer, even as it fades and he shakes his head, pulling back ]

It seems so. I suppose that makes sense, although perhaps bringing in a weapon was... not a good idea.

[hearsthesea]

Just put it away.

[She could ask why he brought it, but then again she could see Chloe bringing her sword to a place like this because of nature alone.]

Whatever else is here, I don't think it's supposed to hurt us.

[bythewaves]

I will try to remember, but war comes easier to my hand than peace.

[ He sighs ] I cannot promise not to do it again, but I will attempt to restrain myself. Forgive me, my lady, I fear this will not be a peaceful excursion!

[hearsthesea]

Let's just be careful, then.

[Possibly of each other too. But it's fine, it's not like Maglor's going to try and attack her - just so long as she stays out of the way, and she does make sure to stay a little behind them as she gestures to move on.]

[bythewaves]

Aye. [ A weak smile and they keep moving - sound scares, she will find, don't affect him, other than to wince at the noise - but anything that lunges at him will get skewered ]

Forgive me, milady, I seem a poor companion indeed.

[hearsthesea]

You'd be very good if we were out fighting real monsters.

[It's meant a compliment. Those poor dummy creatures, though - and yeah, Shirley's currently staying a short but safe distance behind Maglor right now.]

[bythewaves]

I spent too long fighting such things I fear.

[ he apologises ]

At the least I think we have managed to remove any fear from the situation.

[ Not once does he touch her, moving around her with the careless, deadly grace of an old warrior ]

[hearsthesea]

That's good...maybe?

[Is that good in a haunted house? It's not like neither of them have had experience with one.]

[bythewaves]

I do not know... I assume this place is meant to be frightening without true danger so...

[ M-maybe not??? ]

[hearsthesea]

Well, I'm sure we can take our time now.

[There's still all the other Halloween decorations, at least.]

[bythewaves]

That is true. [ He relaxes and smiles back at her shyly ]

Hopefully we can find something a little more... relaxing.
