You are cordially invited to Cisco and Winn's Not-Too-Terrifying Halloween Costume Party!

[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

I do! Sam's spelling me when I need to take a break. [The party is fun and it's money and it's got promotional value. She's all good.]

Patriotic, huh? I'm guessing there's a country whose colours are red, white, and blue where you're from?

[Superheroes sound weirder the more she hears about them. Mind you, there was Sogeking, so.]

America. It actually isn't doing so well in the time and place I come from, but you guess correctly.

This is an old Captain America costume knock off. Winn put it together for me.

So he's a superhero that protects America or works for it, huh?

[Sounds like a nice idea. Almost like the lighter, healthier version of what Crocodile was trying to set up for himself in Alabasta. You can't be a hero of the people if you're the one that's causing them the pain in the first place.]

A little of both I guess, but I'm sure he'd protect people whether it was technically a job or not.

[She thinks a lot of Steve and so far he hasn't let her down. If anything she's been impressed by him.]

Before. He's not, um, around during my time. [Still a Capscicle as far as she knows.]

Guess he made a great impression on history, then. I'm glad to hear it.

Yeah... [She's not sure what to say. There aren't many people left from her world to tell the stories. Her and Kurt and is that about it?]

Anyway, he's a nice guy, so super easy to embarrass. I figure you'd enjoy that tip

He is. And he was a good sport about me dressing up as him. [Because of course he was.]

Hah! Well, then. I guess we've got a lot of incognito heroes tonight. What's his name when he's not out saving the country?

Steve. [Pause.] I guess he's not trying to hide it. Wouldn't do a lot of good considering history and being here anyway. [She probably should have worked that out before she volunteered it though. Still, she's so used to not caring about secret identities and thinking they're a little ridiculous.]

[namisan]

Steve. Rogers? [She looks vaguely startled.]

Um, yes. You know him? [Why this look? Are you having a hard time picturing him in this suit? The chest is smaller with him.]

[namisan]

Sort of. I don't think he remembers me now, but he was originally my co-pilot on the Bloodsport. He made me pie once. [She's amused.] Never mentioned the costume, though.

Oh, returned without memories of being here before kind of deal? [Not her first kidnapping rodeo. She's been there.] Sorry.

[namisan]

I'm used to it. [Nami's been to that rodeo too. She shrugs.] I didn't feel like barging in and saying, "Hey, remember me from that one time" when he'd be getting hit with that kind of stuff already.

True, but he's had plenty of time to get past that now. He also seems like the kind of guy who could handle it. He had to deal with the whole world changing around him and that was before being in a place like this.

[namisan]

Oh by now, sure. But we didn't know each other well. I never really ran into him again after that or I might have said something, but by now it's kind of... well. Like a person surfacing from years ago going "Hey, we had a cup of coffee one time, remember?"

It's not important. I figure we'll eventually meet properly and then just start over.

That works too. I've seen people in the fleet like that. Where I knew versions of them from the prison, but maybe not that well. [And a few she new extremely well who it has been hard with.]

[namisan]

So you don't say anything and just let things start over?

I'm lucky, I think. I haven't lost anyone I know truly well, because I think that'd be a lot harder. [It's like she read the brackets.]

Mmm...I think I usually mention it. I don't like feeling like I'm hiding things, but it isn't necessarily the first thing I say and I'm just honest about how well I knew them. [Like mindedness!]

I do the same when it's someone I knew really well. It's just harder.

[namisan]

Mm. [It's a point. She hasn't felt like she's hiding things, per se, because she knows absolutely nothing about Steve other than he bakes a great pie. But maybe he'd like to know.]

He knows he's been here before, then, right? Maybe I'll seek him out. Or just. Drop it into the conversation or... something.

Oh yeah. I'm sure he knows. Hard to miss those kinds of things. Hard to forget too. Not that it's ever happened to me, but a few people have recognized me from versions they know at home or from comic books apparently.

Comic books, huh? That's not the first time I've heard of that happening. It's like Sam and his entire book series. Are the comics accurate?

Don't know. Never saw any myself and I never had a talk with anyone who had read them involved enough to know if they were seeing differences.

But what is this about a book series for Sam? [Eyebrow raised in amusement.]
