1st Gunshot;; [Video & Action]
Who: Carl Grimes & You!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva & Red Fish
When: 10/28
The Marsiva
[ The broadcast opens up with a loud, echoed thump, followed by video at a strange angle. The camera faces the bottom of a bunk in the Hospitality Deck. A pair of legs swings over the side, feet touching the ground. After a moment, the communicator is picked up with another few seconds of noise and a young face comes into view. After a moment, the feed cuts of.
It comes back a few moments later from one of the other cameras aboard the ship. Carl is walking cautiously down the hall, his back to the wall and a broken piece of something in his hands. (Sorry, Marsiva.) It’s clear he’s expecting an attack from somewhere. Rounding the corner, he drops the broken piece of ship and the video picks up another person- a woman. ]
Maggie? [ Aw, hey, it looks like they know each other! The fans are going to like that, right? ]
The Red Fish;; Post-Shuffle
[ What up, Red Fish? You just acquired someone with a maintenance augment! Hey, that supply closet wasn’t there before, was it? How about those nifty little space roombas? Nice. Carl is still trying to adjust to this crazy new place after being in the walker-fied shitfest that has been his life has been the past two years. It’s weird being around unfamiliar people in an unfamiliar place- space aside. How is everyone okay with being kidnapped, going about normal business?
He just doesn’t get it.
Come meet the strange kid in the sheriff hat that’s stuck with you. Carl can be found in various spots on the Red Fish: the bunks, as empty as they are, it’s odd having his own room, but the bed is comfy enough, and the blankets are clean. The kitchen, investigating that weird protein and drink machine or chowing down on that weird congratulatory ‘pudding’. Shut up, it’s not...terrible. He can probably even be found roaming the halls, trying to get used to the ship. It’s not really working too well. Being cooped up like this is definitely new, and he misses fresh air already. ]

How do you know my name? [ He doesn't recognize her, anyway. ]

I'm already in space, and there are a bunch of ships outside.. I thought that would be hard to believe. Guessin' it gets worse from there?
[ Because that's how it always works. When it rains, it pours. ]
no subject
I wasn't sure if you'd looked outside yet, but yeah, it gets worse. On the plus side, no zombies. [Sorry, man. She calls 'em like she sees 'em and when you describe people coming back from the dead to eat others even if you call them walkers or the dead it sounds like zombies to her.]
no subject
There's a plus side to being kidnapped? Sounds pretty fake.
no subject
Oh, yeah, it's all going to sound fake. For starters, we've been kidnapped to be on a reality television show.
no subject
They must be hurting for people, then. [ Why the hell would people be interested in watching a kid? ] Are there many others?

Hey.
[Pulling back, her hands still on his shoulders, Maggie is happy but there's a serious edge still there.]
Where is everyone else? They took my weapons so I'm guessin' they got yours too.
no subject
..Hey.
[ When he can actually look at her face, he makes sure she isn't hurt- that she's okay. She's just as clean as he is, and she smells like fresh laundry. It's.. really throwing him for a loop. Even his hat, battered and worn as it is, looked like someone had cared for it how they could.
What the fuck is happening? ]
I don't know. I haven't even seen anyone else.. [ He sighs, annoyed. ] I really liked that knife.

[She thinks the whole 'reality show' thing is a load of bull but hey what can she do? They are definitely not on the ground, though. She saw that much from looking out the windows.]
We can get another one.
[She smiles warmly, pushing some wayward bangs out of his eyes.]
I'm just glad you're here with me and not totally alone. At least this way we can stick together.
no subject
Here's hoping once we get outta here.
[ Carl offers her a quick upturn of his lips, turning his head to glance around. Still alone. ]
Yeah, me too.
no subject
Have you eaten? I was pokin' around the kitchen earlier.
[She holds up her fork meekly, smiling a bit.]
It's not a knife but I figured it'd work.
no subject
No. Wanted to get a look around, first.
[ He gestures to his makeshift club on the ground. ] I don't know what that was. Looked easy enough to break.
no subject
You might want to hold onto that just in case.
[You never know - there could be walkers in space?]
no subject
Didn't plan on letting them have it back, anyway.
[ Oh god please don't let there be space walkers.. ]

Video.
[It's short and sweet, but not dismissive. The bruised and mildly battered man on the end of the feed just looks curious and familiar with the sight of Carl, really. Max is absolutely terrible at making and keeping friends, and he would never say the kid came remotely close to that or to Max's dry well of trust, but he did care for Carl's pet dog after he'd vanished. That wasn't on the fleet, though. That was on a different planet, a different ship, a different situation altogether. ]
Video.
[ While he doesn't know this guy, he seems to know Carl. Or has seen him before; which is weird...but that girl Kitty knew him, too. He has to admit, seeing someone not so pristine is a relief. Everything on the Marsiva is so tidy and empty it's unnerving. ]
Video.
He hums, and it's clear he's also not much of a talker.]
You remember being on a ship before?
[You had a dog.]
Video.
[ Because honestly? Don't kidnap people. ]
Video.
[He's straightforward, this one.]
Met you before, but you probably don't remember. People come and go. Don't always realize they've been around. [He's fidgeting with a necklace, a pale tooth on the end. Someone who's left; Max didn't know her very well, but this was a gift, and Max takes gifts very seriously. Strangely, to his distant and quiet character.] Seen old science fiction movies? Other, hn... dimensions... universes.
Video.
Still doesn't stop it from being absolutely weird. Something in his head supplies the solidification that what he's saying is true. That they're in some sort of alternate universe or.. something like it. ]
Yeah, I've seen a few. Read more than a few stories about things like that.
[ Those were some of his favorites. ]
Video.
You got the right idea, then.
Place is... decently stocked. Best to be prepared just in case it's not one day, though.
Video.
[ It's a good idea to get some canned foods if he can, or at least things that will keep. Maybe a weapon or two for when things get hairy. ]
