Hey, we'll probably be leaving in a few days. So is there anything else you guys want from these moons? I can keep an eye out for it.

I mean, unless it's meat. I'm sick of grabbing that stuff, so you're on your own there.

[Oh look, maybe he's actually going to be social for once. From the background, it looks like he's hanging out in his ship's quarters. Near him, there looks like there's a tree coming out of the hull. Ah, life with a fairy nature. Also, his hair is short]

So...I've been wondering this for awhile- but is it normal for worlds not to have monsters? Because I've noticed a pretty big lack of them everywhere we go.

That makes sense. I heard you guys have Summon Spirits too. That's something else I haven't heard about existing in other worlds.

The Summon Spirits could be separated from some of the worlds for their safety. Reize Maxia was a little different from Elympios until the worlds were reunited.

[Oh, wait! Look at Zelos. Ludger smiles at him warmly.]

I know. The most nefarious in this system seem to be lipstick and alcohol smugglers. [HE'S SO BORED OF HIS MERC JOBS MAN]

Do you think these moons even have any assassin guilds?

No kidding, I feel like I could do them blindfolded sometimes.

But maybe that explains why these people are so stuck up about stupid stuff. Too much time on their hands with nothing out to eat them.

[He brightens up, pulling at one of his locks]

[He gives an annoyed sigh. It's hard to me in the warrior class when you don't have anything interesting to beat up.]

I doubt it. They seem more interested in their own affairs than anything else.

You're telling me! Maybe that's why these guys're always complaining: they're bored out of their minds!

I mean, since they don't have to worry about monsters attacking them and all...

[a sigh] I guess it's good the people aren't killing each other, but man, I'd really go for a nice monster hunt. Or something.

Least we're leaving soon. Maybe the next planet will be more normal. [And by normal he means dragons and skeleton armies]

[She sounds bored, just a little, though. Not obnoxiously. Even with this malfunction, she's still mostly herself and couldn't sound melodramatic over something like this if she tried.

She's just finished painting her nails and scritches under the mouth-like flower cap that seems to be wriggling pleasantly under her touch. Oh. And her hair is blue, a nice cerulean shade. She's had it for a while now, like a whole two hours.]

Oh, but to answer your question: planet Earth doesn't have monsters in my universe, but that wasn't really normal, anyway; all the magic had been gone for centuries and they presumably died out.

Seriously. [ he can agree with that idea of "normal".

but yeah, since it was something he mentioned... ] Oh yeah-- you think you can keep an eye out for some building supplies? Like nails and stuff.

[You know at this point, he doesn't even notice the hair color changes anymore. Whatever, it'll turn back to...something soon. What was her natural color again?]

That...doesn't make sense. I know that world's pretty low on magic- but how could Earth still be alive if they had it but lost it all? [HE'S PRETTY SURE YOU NEED THAT. A LOT OF HIS FAMILY DID DIE FOR THAT YOU KNOW]

[It takes him a moment of confusion before it clicks]

Oh, those metal thingies that hang pictures! Right! Yeah, I can look out for those.

[She smiles at that, a little. It sure would be nice to do something at least a little neat. She's so restless, right now.

Meanwhile her plant just wriggles out of its flower pot and skitters off somewhere. She waves it off before turning back to the feed.]

I'm guessing worlds where you're from sustain themselves on magical energy? Not all of them do, strange as it may sound. Though it should be said that my Earth did fall into different sorts of strife for different reasons because of the lack of magic.

Sorta. Life comes from the same energy that happens to be used for magic too. [Something like that] What kind of strife?

March first, the first day of Spring in a lot of places.

[She's only mentioning it now because she sure is lacking some inhibitions.]

But wars, incredible amounts of pollution, crimes. The Terrestial Fairies kept the balance of the world, but they'd been gone for centuries. Humans stopped believing in magic as a result of their absence, and everything declined. It could have been a lot worse, there are still a lot of things to like about Earth as it was, but people there were also...disconnected. It was pretty difficult to get them to start believing in magic, again.

...You know, that sort of stuff still happens even with magic around, Flora. That's more just part of humanity. [And if they stopped believing because some fairies ditched them? He's not really surprised- he would've stopped believing too]

[She looks so genuinely happy in hearing it and holds her face in her hands.]

That isn't just humans it's more often just...people. I was actually in the middle of working to either prevent or prepare to fight in one before all this happened. [She waves a hand. All this being Exsilium, now Drift Fleet, all of it.] I wouldn't be what I am if I didn't know that. But it's possible to remedy ignorance, knowing malice not so much.

I'm a being of nature, I'll be the first to tell you that sometimes conflict and chaos are actually very necessary, sometimes. Balance doesn't mean perfection. [Perfection is synonymous with stagnation, after all.] The problem here was that things were greatly exacerbated on different fronts, and the wrong beings benefited from it. [Her voice darkens and hardens a shade.]

Hmm...I guess that's true. The other races on my world aren't exactly peaceful. [Except maybe Katz. As far as he knew anyway. Not that any humans knew much about those guys]

I see...so the problem was forces that didn't use magic had way too much of the control and did a lot of bad with it. So your plan was to just...balance that out? Give the other side an edge?
