He greets Maggie once he's off the shuttle wearing pretty much every layer he has. Space is freakin' cold. The Golden looks pretty similar to the Red Fish for the most part, though not as old-looking. Her room looks exactly like his, though. Bare, except for the essentials. Empty shelf, bed with a simple mattress, a locker for clothes, and a bedside table. It reminds him of the prison a little bit. ]
It's nice.

[All it needed was Glenn, really.]
The crew is... well, they're not walkers. There's that.
[She still doesn't trust them. Maggie honestly felt disappointed she couldn't be with Carl, but for now she was fine making a go of it here. She was happy at least she could keep an eye on the kid she'd met on the network.]
Food's no different than the Marsiva, really but they got a pinball machine in the recreation room so that's somethin'.
[She saw it when she'd done her initial look through and made a note of it. It may or may not have made her want to beat Carl's butt in a game, but then she had no intention of the two of them staying in the fleet to even bother with it.]

[ The no-walkers is still strange, and things feel slightly void without the groaning and the teeth gnashing. It's such a backdrop to their life that getting used to the noises of space is weird. Carl's ship makes odd noises that he's not quite sure of the origin.
When he saw Maggie's name listed under another ship, he'd been a little concerned, but this way, they can cover more space in case others show up. ]
At least we don't have to worry about the food expiring?

[Honestly - it's also quiet without Judith around. She's so used to seeing her in Carl's arms, or holding her herself - it felt a bit empty. Not the same empty she'd felt after losing Beth, but close enough. She felt like she was biding her time here, waiting for a chance to get back home.]
You said your ship has three captains, right? This one has a kid, not that I mind. He seems sweet enough.
[Actually, everyone on the crew seemed nice. It was jarring after being suspicious for so long of people. She still felt suspicious of the crew, however.]

[ It's way too quiet. He misses the familiar voices. His dad, Michonne. Abraham and Eugene bickering. Home really never seemed so far away. ]
Yeah. I haven't really met them, yet.
[ He has a feeling that the quiet of the ship won't last horribly long. Three captains can't agree on everything, right? ]

[Which, while still very impressive, she's still not okay with all of this as a whole.]
If you ever feel overwhelmed you can come see me. You know that, right? Just because we're separated doesn't mean we're alone.
[Just like that first night. They'd been cut off from their friends but didn't stop concern for one another. She'd tried to stay awake, hoping he would give in and let her have the first watch. In the end he'd won.]

[ He wonders how long people have stuck around in this place.. How they even got to go home. When they would. ]
What's there to be overwhelmed about in space?
[ He brushes it off with a shrug. Besides everything and constantly worrying about everyone back home. All they have to do is keep going until either the others show up or they go home. ]

[Unconsciously, she twists her wedding ring, taking in the walls of her new room.]
This place feels like what we tried to make the prison. People just tryin' to get by, living peacefully.

[ Carl makes himself comfortable on the bed, sitting with his legs curled up. ]

[She falls quiet for a moment.]
Just like with the prison. We had no idea things would turn out that way until they did. Everything got messed up, but at least we came out of it. Most of us came out of it.
[Even with their losses.]
I'm not saying we should - that we should just play nice. But if we have to make this work too, we should.

[ It's something troubling to think about, at the very least. What if they are stuck here? They'll have to blend in, even for a little while. ]
..Yeah, most of us.
no subject
[Just... force them to be here against their will, but tomato tamato?]

[ Hey, it could be worse. The walkers could have come with them. ]
no subject
[Very true. The only draw back here is that humans could be just as dangerous.]

[ He picks idly at the bedspread underneath him. It doesn't look brand new, which is comforting in its own right. Nothing is new to them, anymore, save for situations and people. ]
I don't think we'll remember. [ If what Max and Kitty said was true and they did see him another place like this, then they wouldn't remember. Carl certainly couldn't remember it, but they knew him. They'd cross that bridge when they got to it, he guessed. ]
