One, her room. Having picked up a number of plants from the planet and given them a home in her room, she spends a good amount of time tending to them. Sometimes, you might even overhear her speaking to them too. Though it sounds more like a one-sided conversation than anything else.
She keeps the door open when she's in there, though, in case someone happens by or wants to speak with her. She isn't the most social, so that's her attempt at making an effort at being open. Welcoming. Something like that.
The second place she can be found is in the kitchen. Here, you can find her sipping at tea or cursing and threatening the appliances when they don't work on the first attempt. Otherwise, she's seated at the table with a book and paper, pouring through the gift Barriss gave her and taking notes on anything of interest.
Other than that, she does have a tendency to wander the ship at random, so it's easy to catch her most anywhere (except the medical lab). So by all means, wildcard if the other options don't work! ♥]
kitchen;;
He makes sure to at least make noise when he does enter so he doesn't startle her. Carl hates it when he's taken by surprise, too. Only natural for others to hate it too. ]
Try hitting it on the side.

She glances between him and the machine, then tilts her head with a confused look]
Will I not break it if I hit it?
no subject
[ If it's broken, he can probably fix it if he messes with it long enough. This augment thing is still really weird to get used to. ]
Just don't hit it very hard?

Maggie Greene | OTA
For now, Maggie can be found moving about the ship on occasion. She's still learning where everything is, after all. As far as her post, the Lab would be her most frequent destination. The kitchens were another place she visited, even if she couldn't exactly call most of this food appetising. It could be worse. It could always be worse.
Should anyone approach Maggie from afar they had better hope it isn't by sneaking up on her. She's still quite jumpy from living on the road for as long as she has. With no weapon on hand, she's left to just jump every time someone sneaks up on her, however accidentally. She does her best to keep calm and not let anyone notice, but to the trained eye it was most definitely noticeable.
Someone isn't taking their new surroundings very well. She had half a mind to just go back to her room and stay there, but she wanted to make an effort. These people didn't seem bad to her.]
Closed to Carl Grimes (for when he visits)
[Finally able to take a breather and have time to themselves, Maggie doesn't have to do much rearranging of her practically empty room. It was devoid of any real personal touches, though she hoped to fix that if she was to be stuck here. Either way, once she collects Carl from the shuttle bay, the two of them have a chance to privacy.]
So, this is it. I guess.
[Thus ends the tour? It wasn't much of a tour of her room to begin with.]

Look out, look out! Protect the people!
[Said people are very crude in comparison, but Takeshi does what he can, okay.
WELCOME TO THE GOLDEN, THIS IS UR CAPTAIN SPEAKING.]
no subject
She didn't want to interrupt, but she also wanted to get as much information as she could. Who better to ask than the captain?
Crossing her arms, Maggie is content to just observe for a bit, not disturbing him. It was nice to see that even in this place a kid could still be a kid. She hoped that eventually Judith could be the same as he was. Even if the world wasn't right, they could make a new one.]
Takeshi, right?
[Sorry to interrupt, kiddo.]
no subject
He leaps up with all the grace of a dog who just escaped a bathtub, eyes rounding in surprise. Clearly the kiddo had no prediction of anyone interrupting his kid's time; he pushes his toys with a foot behind him, beneath his bed, and tries to recollect some of that serious captain vibe.
It's not so successful, and he blushes madly.]
Y-yeah, that's me! I'm me! Did you need any help, Miss Maggie?

He greets Maggie once he's off the shuttle wearing pretty much every layer he has. Space is freakin' cold. The Golden looks pretty similar to the Red Fish for the most part, though not as old-looking. Her room looks exactly like his, though. Bare, except for the essentials. Empty shelf, bed with a simple mattress, a locker for clothes, and a bedside table. It reminds him of the prison a little bit. ]
It's nice.
no subject
[All it needed was Glenn, really.]
The crew is... well, they're not walkers. There's that.
[She still doesn't trust them. Maggie honestly felt disappointed she couldn't be with Carl, but for now she was fine making a go of it here. She was happy at least she could keep an eye on the kid she'd met on the network.]
Food's no different than the Marsiva, really but they got a pinball machine in the recreation room so that's somethin'.
[She saw it when she'd done her initial look through and made a note of it. It may or may not have made her want to beat Carl's butt in a game, but then she had no intention of the two of them staying in the fleet to even bother with it.]
no subject
[ The no-walkers is still strange, and things feel slightly void without the groaning and the teeth gnashing. It's such a backdrop to their life that getting used to the noises of space is weird. Carl's ship makes odd noises that he's not quite sure of the origin.
When he saw Maggie's name listed under another ship, he'd been a little concerned, but this way, they can cover more space in case others show up. ]
At least we don't have to worry about the food expiring?

[Call Maggie skeptical. She would have been in and out and on her way, but she stopped first to dig out the pepper. It wouldn't kill her to be helpful sometimes.]
no subject
Yup! It takes a little creativity, but you can make some decent-tasting meals. Of course, it helps that I've had experience cookin' with protein before- and the stuff we had back home didn't have much in the way of flavor, neither.

It's on one of these passes that she spots Maggie. She's long been used to people coming and going, and seeing someone taking up her friend's spot isn't a surprise in the least. She'd already spent enough time being upset, and it wasn't Maggie's fault. She had to keep that in mind.
She doesn't step into the lab. She barely leans in the door. But she does make herself known, heavy bootsteps against the floor and a quick knock on the door to announce her presence]
Making yourself at home, dear?
no subject
Tryin' to, I guess. Don't have any other choice.
[Closing the drawer she had been poking into, Maggie crosses her arms.]
Doesn't this place bother anyone? Everything seems so - [She gestured wordlessly.] relaxed.
no subject
It is not as relaxed as it would seem, I can assure you. Not everyone enjoys it here. [and she frees a hand to give a little finger wave]
The only reason I am not bothered, per say, is because I have done this before, and there are others here that I met the last time. So it makes it easier.

Carl Grimes || Visiting!
When he's not around Maggie, or maybe he's even looking for her, Carl is around the hallways or in the kitchen, stopping in for refreshments or poking his head through the door in search of her.
Maybe you've even caught him in the cargo bay just getting off of a shuttle. ]
Jeyne Westerling | OTA
Still a bit shy, Jeyne wandered uncertainly about the ship. She could often be found in her room. She would keep the door open until later evening, in case anyone needed assistance or general first aid. When not with visitors, she took up reading some of the books that she had found about, growing used to the noise about the ship, happily accepting it in place of the silence on the Marsiva.
On occasion, she would visit the kitchen, still struggling to learn how to make herself something to eat. Despite her sweet nature, when she failed yet again to catch on to the concept, she would smack the appliance and whisper an oath under her breath. A burned lunch, a burned dinner. It was always the same.
But more often than not, she can simply be found wandering, exploring as she did once before.]

She glanced at the settings, hesitantly lowering it as Kaylee suggested.]
Paste or burnt food. I'm famished just by thinking of my choices.
Thank you. I regret taking the cooks in my household for granted.

It's definitely a skill that can take some time to learn. But it's worth it when you do, especially if we ever get ahold of fresh ingredients. When I got enough credits, I'm makin' us all a steak dinner.

Please. I think these wheels [she pointed to the dials] mean something, but I only seem to make it worse.
no subject
They are - I think they are called knobs, and you must turn them in order to make the top light up. [she turns one on, but low] The more you turn it, the bigger the flame is. This middle one is for the oven part, and it works a similar way. The more you turn it, the hotter it becomes.
