I’m figuring that at some point I’m going to get an explanation, or one of my guns back, or something. Because I’m not really likely to die of boredom, no matter how long I’m left here.

[And while boredom is a lot better than most of the alternatives, Kai would still rather have some kind of weapon.]

And I can still bite, if it comes to that.

[Kai shows his teeth and it looks like in addition to having pointy ears and purple eyes, he also has fangs.

He lets out a half-sigh after that.]

Seriously though. What is it I’m supposed to be doing here? I can’t see much use for a Stalker.

No. You misunderstand. I am not from the same place as you. Elves in Thedas would never get within spitting distance of any court, unless they happened to be servants or slaves working there.

...And even then, they would be kept out of sight.

Humans. Noble ones, at that.

[He shrugs his shoulders. ]

Dwarves too, but they mostly keep to themselves anyway.

[There are no noble humans. They go in for representative democracy. And there are definitely no dwarves.]

That is a difficult question to answer. I have been away from my home world for a long time, it is hard to judge these days, in all honesty.

It is better for elves here, though. There is a lack of general disgust for our existence.

Guess I'll have to decide for myself. I was happy enough with my life, though.

A number. Only two of us are elves, however.

There is Lark. She's the only other elf from my world. She's recently arrived.

But there's more of you from your world, besides just the elfin? How many?

Is it common that there be many from a same world?

[Should Kai be concerned about who else might be here from his. At least Ryder would have responded to this if he'd seen it. There are others who wouldn't.]

Around seven or so, all in all.

And no, my world is uncommonly well populated here. Most of the time, there is only two or three people from the same world. Often, someone is alone.

There's no one here named Valin, is there? Looks like me, but brown eyes and gold streaks in his hair?

I...do not think so, no. I have met no such person, anyway.

[Then again, Fenris is the least likely person on the Fleet to make friends ever, so he's good at missing newcomers.]

I doubt it. So long as you are here to react to whatever foolishness they throw at you, you will get ratings as much as anyone else.
