I traveled with Robb and his army, though we didn't have much time to be together either. He had to leave and attend the wedding of his uncle.

[The words trailed off as a haunted expression came back to her eyes. She hardly got to be a wife to him. Only here could they enjoy their marriage.]

[Though she's not sure exactly what triggered it, Beverly catches Jeyne's expression so she rests a hand on the girl's arm.]

[Her mother. It had to be.]

[Oh. Beverly's expression softens in sympathy. While in her 24th century mind, Jeyne is entirely too young to be having children yet, she knows enough of Westeros to know they must have very different views on this. And either way, to want a child and not be able to have one is a painful thing - all the more so if you aren't even sure of the truth.]

That is something I can determine. In fact, it won't take very long at all, so whenever you are ready, just let me know.

[She wasn't certain that she was ready to look into it just yet. Either way, the news would be devastating. Whether she was barren or if her mother had prevented her from having a child, it would break her heart.
