Sokka - OTA
[Sokka has been splitting his time between the Blue Fish and the planet. He's determined to find something useful in his fight against Atroma. Anything, really, to make him feel like he's made some kind of progress in two damn years. There's a temptation to go to the Marsiva, to see what the game room is all about, but he won't. That's where they want people to be, so obviously they're hiding something elsewhere.
As such, he can be found flciking through reams of paperwork, notes scribbled over his time in the Fleet- trying to find any kind of answer. He's muttering to himself. ]

[When he's not obsessing over this, you can find him tinkering at the kitchen table. Hawky sits on a chair behind him, shifting his feet a little, clearly unimpressed with the proceedings. At some point, Sokka starts loading the contraption with protein gel, to which the bird squeaks unhappily. Sokka gives a dismissive wave of his hand. ]
Oh, come on, it'll be fine. I promise it won't explode this time. Relax.

Hey, Sokka!
[Commence jumping in 3... 2...]

He spins around wide eyed, before...]
Oh. It's you.
[He takes a deep breath, trying to regain some pride. ]
Why do you feel the need to do these things? I swear it's like you're two Tophs, all in one.
no subject
[Sorry Sokka, still laughing at you.]
Two? You should see her as a cranky old lady - she's not nearly as fun.
[Pulling a face just thinking about it.... :|]
no subject
Really? Does she at least still make spiteful, sarcastic comments? She loves that.

[She had managed to catch his statement as she entered the kitchen. Despite the looming possibility of something exploding, she went about her usual routine of preparing a cup of tea for herself and for Robb. He was off somewhere, but she'd manage to find him and bring him something warm to drink.]
How often do you have to make that promise?
no subject
...More than ten, less than fifty times?
[SUPER comforting. He is the comfort master. ]
But I really mean it this time.
no subject
[She might be just a bit worried. But only just a bit.]
What are you trying to do and is it possible not to blow up the ship?
no subject
[Apparently that matters. ]
I'm trying to find a way to blend the proteins gels a little better, and it won't blow up the whole ship.
...Maybe just like...the table.

This time? What happened before?

...I might have set fire to the table a tiny little bit.

Sokka.

[Yeah. You can notice it. ]
Besides, i know it won't explode this time. I fixed it.

Jeyne Westerling | OTA - Visiting
She can often be found exploring the halls and getting a feel for the ship. More often than not, she is in the kitchen practicing how to cook. There has been mild improvement, her food doesn't turn out raw anymore. Yet it's still a hurdle to try and keep it from being burnt.
Every time her latest attempt begins to smoke, she'll mutter an oath beneath her breath and smack the machine in contempt.] Seven hells! Why won't you work?!
[She can at least make tea and offers to do so to anyone who enters the kitchens, excited for the chance to create something that doesn't taste awful.]
no subject
Something wrong?
no subject
No matter how many times I am shown how to work these machines, I still manage to forget.
no subject
Ah, I see.
I understand. It takes time to get used to them. Would you like help?
no subject
I'm Jeyne.

... though that burnt smell might be drawing her as well. She enters the kitchen looking a little alarmed at first, but her expression soon relaxes when she sees nothing is actually on fire. But... who is this? Her brow furrows.]
Do you need some help?
no subject
She smiled sheepishly at the woman, nearly dropping her plate as the heat burned her fingers.]
I think I'm a bit beyond help now. This is my third attempt.
no subject
Let me see your hands. Did you burn yourself?
