[The mention of the Atroma turned her mood serious once more.]
Do they often do things to us?
no subject
[He gives a soft huff, picking up a screwdriver. ]
Not often, but when they do, it's pretty awful. Like they're making up for lost time or something.
no subject
How terrible can it get? I have heard the Atroma find ways to toy with us, but I know nothing about what they are capable of.
I only want to know what to expect. Robb is worried for me, but I think I can manage, so long as I have a sense of what is to come.

Also, last year, Atroma trapped us all in the Marsiva and made us walk through each others dreams. It sucked.
no subject
[So far, it wasn't more terrible than the things she had heard of in Westeros.]
That's horrifying. What was yours?
no subject
[His mother being murdered. Over and over again. While he just stood there and watched.]
I- I'd rather not talk about it.
no subject
[She wasn't even aware there was something more than the simple kidnapping. Finding out the subject was painful for Sokka earned a look of immediate regret and apology.
Better to change the subject than push him.]
So what is it you are hoping to do with- [She waved her hand towards the machine he was tinkering with.]
no subject
[He offers her a small smile, showing no damage was done. ]
I'm gonna try to merge some flavours together. See if we can get something really tasty out of the gels we get.
no subject
[That gel is vile!]
Having something freshly made will seem like a distant fantasy soon.

[See, she's learning!]
I haven't had the chance to explore the waystations. Was there anything there worth looking at?
no subject
[He smiles softly. ]
Some of them are. Some are pretty run down, and some are super fancy. But they're always worth exploring. You never know what you might find in them.
no subject
[Or something like that.]
This place seemed so frightening when I first arrived, but now... [it felt strange to admit this much, but it was likely born out of having her husband back.] I always wanted to go sailing and see other places.
I want to go below, but I heard that some of the people on the planet are dangerous. I would need someone to go with me.
no subject
[Aww, that gets a smile out of him, and he gives a little flourished bow. ]
Well, if Robb isn't available, I'm always happy to give you some company around the place. No one would take me and my trusty boomerang.
no subject
[Her excitement shows clearly.]
I would love that very much, thank you. [A small pause.] What is a boomerang?
no subject
[And he at least understand Westeros has it's own ideas about women being unaccompanied. Stupid ideas- but ones he held himself a few years ago. He's better now, he knows women are far more capable than anyone could guess- but he knows to respect the culture Jeyene is used to. Girl power pep talks can come later.
He grins, pulling it from the pouch slung along his back.]
Ta daaaah. It's a weapon. When I throw it, it comes back to me.
...
Like eighty per cent of the time.
no subject
It comes back to you? Like magic?
Will you show me?
no subject
Not magic, science. It's all to do with angles and airflow, it's really neat.
[He will give her science lessons if she's not careful. She'll know everything these is to know about SCIENCE!!! ]
And sure! Once we have a place with some open space, I'll show you how it works.
no subject
You will have to explain it to me when you show me how it returns to you.
What would you use it for? It's a weapon?
no subject
I can absolutely do it. And yeah! Believe it or not, this baby once defeated a guy who could explode things with his mind.
[He will never stop telling that story. NEVER. ]
no subject
Explode things with his mind? I think you're teasing me.
[That sounds a bit too fantastical to be real.]
no subject
[He sounds so pleased about this. So, so pleased. ]
It was in a work in progress after Sparky-Sparky-Boom-Man.
[Help him. ]
no subject
If she knew the phrase "dork", she'd tease Sokka with it.]
You truly have a gift with names.
[Which is true. She doubted anyone could be so corny with names as Sokka.]
no subject
Thank you! It's one of my many, many talents.
[Judging by the grin, he's absolutely going to take it as a compliment. ]
