Jeyne Westerling | OTA - Visiting
She can often be found exploring the halls and getting a feel for the ship. More often than not, she is in the kitchen practicing how to cook. There has been mild improvement, her food doesn't turn out raw anymore. Yet it's still a hurdle to try and keep it from being burnt.
Every time her latest attempt begins to smoke, she'll mutter an oath beneath her breath and smack the machine in contempt.] Seven hells! Why won't you work?!
[She can at least make tea and offers to do so to anyone who enters the kitchens, excited for the chance to create something that doesn't taste awful.]

Something wrong?
no subject
No matter how many times I am shown how to work these machines, I still manage to forget.
no subject
Ah, I see.
I understand. It takes time to get used to them. Would you like help?
no subject
I'm Jeyne.
no subject
And alright, what is it that you'd like to eat?
no subject
no subject
[Yeah sorry Jeyne it's going to suck either way]
But the best way to heat it up is with the microwave!
no subject
[She figured that it was going to be bad either way. All she could do is wait to get used to the taste.]
The what?
no subject
[He gestures at it]
You put food in it, and it heats it up! Like an oven, but without fire!
no subject
Once it is heated, she beams at him, pleased.]
Forgive me, I have been rather rude. I'm Jeyne.
no subject
[He smiles, proud of her]
It's alright- I'm Allen. The first mate on this ship. I take it you know Robb?
no subject
[Everyone on the Blue Fish was so kind. It was honestly a relief from what she expected from this world.
The mention of Robb earns a bright grin from her, a soft glow resonating about her features.]
He's my husband!

... though that burnt smell might be drawing her as well. She enters the kitchen looking a little alarmed at first, but her expression soon relaxes when she sees nothing is actually on fire. But... who is this? Her brow furrows.]
Do you need some help?
no subject
She smiled sheepishly at the woman, nearly dropping her plate as the heat burned her fingers.]
I think I'm a bit beyond help now. This is my third attempt.
no subject
Let me see your hands. Did you burn yourself?
no subject
I need a bit of cool water, I think.
[She offered her hands to Beverly to inspect.]
no subject
Nothing worse, thankfully. I’ll get the pot for you.
[She slips on a pair of oven mitts to move the pot away from the stove.]
I'm Dr. Crusher by the way. I don't believe we've met.
no subject
I should have known better. It's rather stupid of me not to at least find something to cover my hands with.
[She is quick to learn other things, but cooking was where she was a bit of a dunderhead? It was a bit ridiculous and frustrating to discover that about herself.]
No, though I think that I have heard your name in passing. I'm Jeyne Westerling...er, "Lady Stark".
[She wasn't a widow here.]
no subject
Stark, hmm? Another relation of Robb and Sansa's then?
no subject
[Her face turns as red as her hands.]
Robb is my husband and Sansa is my good-sister.
no subject
Robb never told me he was married!
no subject
[Though the reason was understandable.]
You are friends with him?
no subject
I'd like to think so. I care about him a great deal.
no subject
It helps to know that he had those that cared about him in this place. Have you been here as long as he has?
